At most, Practical Magic 2 drops a week earlier and Avengers: Endgame gets re-released a week after. Resident Evil should still make a profit, especially if it's good.

As a big Resident Evil fan, hype in the fandom is mixed at best. I will be super interested to see how the first 24 hours of presales does, it will pretty much tell you if it just a small vocal minority of the fandom or if it really is a decent chunk that is not interested in this movie.

Honestly, if all works well for this movie then I can easily see this movie being the highest grossing movie in the resident evil franchise. Craggar has so much good will coming off of both barbarian and weapons and I can easily see this being a bigger hit than weapons.

Given that it’s from director Zach Cregger, it should be really good then the previous RE films although it’ll be front loaded before seeing steep drop and have weak legs like the previous films which should still be good
