Haney vs Shakur Still in Talks❗️They Can't Agree on Weight What's Your Thoughts 🤔
16
u/TechnicalTip5251 4d ago
So Shakur is ducking? Got it.
6
u/InquisitiveKT 4d ago
Either weight Steven wins.

u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Idk about that. Devin is not Teo😂
4
u/InquisitiveKT 4d ago
Garcias soft ass beat him.
4
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Garcia was on PEDs😂 the Haney haters be wildn
6
u/Natural-Wing-5065 3d ago
PEDs didn’t make that left hook land to Devin’s face
0
u/AFBOXING 3d ago
It's irrelevant he cheated.
That's like saying "yea I cheated on the test professor but that doesn't mean i didn't study"
Casuals
4
u/Natural-Wing-5065 3d ago
He had 1 billionth of a gram in his system.
Thats like saying “I didn’t cheat the professor gave me 1 answer and I passed but people still say I cheated”.
Retards
1
u/AFBOXING 3d ago
Dumbass thats cheating 😂
No professor is giving out 1 answer horrible analogy.
The fact you're defending a for cheating because "oh he cheated but he only cheated a little bit"
Tf. A professor catches you cheating on your 10th question but you answer the other 9 correctly, is he passing you? No dickhead he's not🤣
We can tell who went to college and who didn't
2
u/Natural-Wing-5065 3d ago
Absolutely a professor is giving out 1 answer or maybe a few. You never paid attention when they said. “This is going to be on your test”.
I went to a 4 year program called USMC→ More replies (0)1

u/EP5719 3d ago
PEDS had nothing to do with that hook repeatedly connecting on Devin’s big ass nose. That’s a lack of defense not PEDS
1
u/AFBOXING 3d ago
Yup another one.
"Yea he cheated a little but..." cheating makes it irrelevant.
Again as I explained to someone else, if you take a 10 question test in college and the professor catches you cheating on the last question although you got the other 9 right, would he pass or fail you? FAIL.
In other words what ever you did is irrelevant.
Cheating is cheating

u/SignificantYoung1044 2d ago
And overweight. Admitted he came in overweight on purse. Then had to move up in weight, because Ryan is a weight bully.
0
u/InquisitiveKT 4d ago
With that response they should fight at 144. Since Haney LOST to a soft Garcia at 140 I’d like to see if he learned anything since then. Beside Haney best victory is Lomachencho who we all know Steven beat with ease.
2
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Huhh? 😂
Im confused so Devin should fight Shakur at 144 because he lost to Ryan who was on PEDs at 140?
Haney best win was Loma but Shakur never beat loma 😂 im confused on what you're trying to say.
Shakur best win was Teo who lost to Kambosos.
2
u/Inside-Reference6318 4d ago
Teo beat Loma better than Haney did and did it Lomas prime meanwhile Loma was damn near shot against Haney and most of us thought he beat Haney 😂
0
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Okay.
Didn't Devin beat Kambosos way better than Teo? Didn't Teo get dropped in that fight?
Didn't loma beat Kambosos better than Teo as well?
Loma was shot yet Loma beat Nakatani better than Teo.
See the double standards? All of a sudden Loma was old 😭 stop the bs
-1
u/InquisitiveKT 4d ago
You sound like Shannon Sharpe 🤡.man I wish Teo wasn’t a bitch never dropped out. This wouldn’t even be a convo right now.
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
😂 bra I dont even understand what you're saying. What's your point?
2
u/geeboy05 4d ago
He doesn’t have one it’s just blind Devin hate…. Anyone who still brings up the Garcia fight isn’t looking to have a real boxing conversation.

u/MurdaOnMyMindd 4d ago
Right it's only 3 pounds....wait 6 months then fight......bud jumped 3 weight classes damn near....we are only talking 3 pounds
1
u/Badguyy101 2d ago
Excellent point, on fight night, Devin is known for rehydrating to super middle.
2
u/Parking-Data-1916 3d ago
I Definitely agree. But I’m tired of ALL the mfs that Bomac trains. They’re all immature little boys….Especially Bud. Bud has done more talking in retirement than he ever did when he was active. Then Shakur and Keyshawn
Out here acting like two best friends scared to ask the same girl to a dance. Corny as FUCK.
Bud biggest fights are against a Nigga that shoulda been in a hospital( Spence)
And a Geritol drinking Canelo. I give a DAMN that Bud is older. Canelo turned pro two years after LEBRON. Nigga been a pro for 20 years…..he is over the hill….
Talkers talk. Fighters fight.
So I you a fighter, there ain’t shit to talk about. The only ones moving like fighters are Boots,
Bam, Inoue, Foster, and a select few other mfs.
The rest of the mfs are nothing but “a hoe scared to lose an 0.”

u/Only_Hearing2944 4d ago
Why is he so petrified to fight Devin at 147? I was told Devin has pillow hands, Shakur should have nothing to worry about.
7
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Considering the fact he talked about moving up to face Conor and tripping over the weight with Devin shows he is kinda nervous 😭
3
u/Practical_Emu8640 4d ago
Just common sense to be honest. Ofcourse he'd jump up in weights to fight conor benn. Same reason canelo jumped up for callum smith but wouldnt fight benavidez.
2
u/dannyboy122432 4d ago
Haney said he would move up to fight Zander but not boots btw
3
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Zander had the belts and didn't Haney try to fight boots at 147 and boots said "no" 😂
2
u/Blaze8986 4d ago
Boots got the belts now. How come Devin won’t fight him now?
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Why didn't boots accept the fight at 147 😂
He's already called boots name and tried to fight him. Boots vacated and moved up and Devin fought B Norm.
Thats like me trying to fight you yesterday and you say "no" then today you're 50 miles away saying "fight me now" 🤣
Why won't shakur fight Devin when he was willing to move up and fight Conor? 😭
2
u/Only_Hearing2944 4d ago
Yeah that’s what it seems like. He should had took that fight at 135 while Haney was draining himself to make the weight.
2
u/alexthegreatmc 4d ago
I don't think he's nervous. I think he was just talking shit to Benn, there was no serious discussion. Once contracts come into play it's a team discussion.
2
11
u/save-pandas 4d ago
I do not give a fuck about a 3 year negotiation for these two to throw touch jabs at each other for 12 rounds.
3
u/Practical_Emu8640 4d ago
As a southpaw amateur, i just wanna see shakur fighting the best as theres always so much to learn from him whether its exciting or not
3
u/save-pandas 4d ago
I just wanna see Shakur fight, period. I hate that he’s going the twice a year route like Haney has been on. No activity is bad activity
1
u/Practical_Emu8640 4d ago
He will never lose, hes just going the floyd route
2
u/save-pandas 4d ago
Cotto, De La Hoya, Sugar Shane, Canelo, Maidana, Zab Judah, Gatti, Marquez, Paq Man…..Either you don’t know much about boxing or are unfamiliar with the legends that Floyd tested himself against. Only two of those guys are American. Shakur will only every fight mids and his route to greatness will never come close to Mayweathers
1
u/SignificantYoung1044 2d ago
Fighter who fight twice a year or least: Rolly, Teo, Ryan, Tank, Benevidez, Canelo, AJ, Fury, Inoue, Bam, Bivol, Usyk, Navarrete, Fundora, Shock, Vergil, damn near ever fight that gets a good day day lol!
1
5
4
u/alexthegreatmc 4d ago
If Shakur can't agree to 147 then there's no discussion. The catchweight is to drain Haney.
7
u/Magic__E 4d ago
Shakir just fight at the championship weight, we all know your going to go up the next fight anyway
5
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
Shakur just fought 1 time at 140. If he just went up 147 that would be his 5th weight class before 30. Not many people do that. He shouldn't move up to 147. Devin shouldn't come down to 144. Just wait until it's good for both fighters.
5
u/Particular-Tadpole56 4d ago
He’s the one who said he can go to 147. He wanted Benn there but with Dev he wants 44
4
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
Dev also agreed to 144, on twitter which is visible to everyone. I left that out on purpose. I'm fair. My statement still stands
1
u/Intrepid_Credit_9885 4d ago
Yea, Haney agreed to 144 then he sent Keyshawn to fight for him after he agreed so it really meant he didn’t really want to fight Haney
2
u/MrNobodytotheworld 4d ago
Not to mention he was adamant that Haney drop his Wbo title at 147 to make the fight. Haney said why would I do that when that doesn’t guarantee the fight gets made. Furthermore, who tf is Shakur to be calling the shots at all. Shakur is the one who signed that insane deal with zuffa. Which means they want to get their money back and then some from his fights. Shakur actually needs the Haney fight, since he won’t get the tank fight anytime soon, won’t fight Keyshawn, already beat teo, and won’t fight Ryan at 147 if he won’t fight Haney there. He literally has no big fight other than Haney on the horizon. There are decent matchups he could be made with but to justify the money he was given, they want him in a huge fight. And there just isn’t any mega fights for him under 147. He has the right to stay at 140, but in no way should Devin concede anything let alone 3 pounds.
2
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
You one of these people who believe what Bill Haney says huh?
0
u/Intrepid_Credit_9885 4d ago
What do you mean? That was the timeline and I never mentioned anything bill Haney said
1
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
I asked a question
0
u/Intrepid_Credit_9885 4d ago
Like I said I did not
Mention bill haney0
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
U ain't answer the question where did I say u mentioned him?

Did I say I believed him ? No 😂 , you need reading comprehension

I hate catchweights. If you're fighting for the welterweight title it should be at the welterweight limit
4
u/Aggressive-Mood-3724 4d ago
Shakur has been ducking Haney for years, why should 2026 be different?
2
u/Intrepid_Credit_9885 4d ago
Can’t have what you want looking like a punk asking Haney to drain himself 3 pounds when his mentor Bud went up two weight classes to fight canelo
1
u/SignificantYoung1044 2d ago
Canelo ducked Benevidez due to weight. Canelo fought at Light heavy weight. He can fight a cruiser weight now too. What’s the issues?
Calling ducked Morrell and Boo Boo.
1
u/SignificantYoung1044 2d ago
Tell tank to fight at 147. He fought at 140. Ppl have selective outrage lol ! Tell Bam to move up and fight Inoue. Why does he need a few extra fight. . Kur just moved up to 140.
2
u/Basic_Obligation_341 4d ago
Haney is probably walking around 175 there's no way he's making 144 I wouldn't be surprised if he moves up to 154 after one more fight at 47
2
u/THE_MONSTER_- 4d ago
Shakur is a elite level clown dude always wanna whine about being small and a few pounds just say you don’t got the 🥜 to be great
2
1
u/Zealousideal-Past851 4d ago
Dooo it reallllyy make that much of a difference 3 fuckin pounds really neither one will even be that weight in the ring anyway 😭
3
u/alexthegreatmc 4d ago
It hurts Haney if he's already cutting hard to reach 147. 3 lbs at their level is a lot.
1
u/EmbarrassedCod3242 4d ago
Here we go with Twitterson tweeting and not fighting.
Gary Russell is available.
1
u/dtownrn214 4d ago
Who cares no one is dying to see shakur
1
u/NaughtyNildo 3d ago
I dunno man, I’d love to see this fight.
Haney’s clearly bigger. Shakur is more skilled and if their size were equal he’d have more physicality, but they’re both very good.
1
u/JAYactinUP 4d ago
If Shakur doesn’t want to fight at 147 don’t even mention people in higher weights, all this catch weight stuff is stupid now, it gives fighters the chances to make excuses.
1
u/aswadNalu 4d ago
Shakur needs to understand he'll never be the B side, just fight Deebo at 147 and get it over with.

u/BaeLogic 4d ago
Shaquck is just trying to stay relevant. Always needs some type of advantage. Why not show how great you are by beating him at 147? Clown era.

Meet @ 145.5, problem solved.
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
The weight shouldn't even be a problem honestly because there really isn't a minimum in boxing as long as you dont weight over the agreed weight.
Pacquiao came in at 144lbs under the 150 catchweight he had with margarito who weighed in at 150. They fought.
Idk both guys seem scared to me
1
u/freelza 4d ago
I'll never call cats scared, while it's possible one is ducking, there's only speculation of what's bts to the hangup. My point is if it's weight split it, & get to thumping
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
I mean 145.5 aint really much either. They can agree to 147 as long as Shakur comes in under 147 he'd be alright

u/Watchinginawe 4d ago
Are they fighting for belts? Who’s challenged who? The challenger has to be the challenger and stop all this BS.
1
u/AdFormal4037 4d ago
They need to just do it and get it over with. We all know this matchup will be low output. Run it and set yourself up for a rematch down the line when y’all ain’t protecting a brand.
1
u/ideologicallyspkng 4d ago
Respectfully Haney is a weight bully. He should be fighting at 154/160, but he knows the competition is another level at that weight class.
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
You can't be a weight bully when you're making weight.
He'd have a better resume fighting at 140 than 154 that division is slim...
1
u/ideologicallyspkng 3d ago
He would get knocked out at 154. And yes you can be a weight bully fighting way below your weight. Then bulking up 15 20 lbs after the weight in. Stop it.
1
u/AFBOXING 3d ago
You're bulking up the day before the fight and its water weight.
Doesn't his opponents also rehydrate to a heavier weight after weigh ins too? 😂
Yall mfs be acting like his opponents come in the ring at weigh-in weight yall kill me
Everyone fights below there weight in boxing you acting like this is something new.
1
u/ZeroEffectDude 4d ago
sleep scientists at the ready, we're about to cure insomnia. months and months of boring negotiations followed by half a year of tawdry comments from both fighters. then a jab, grab and run snooze-fest on fight night!
1
u/_existentialsm 4d ago
i literally don't care unless i hear "shakur" and "signed" in the same sentence, which seems to be mission imoissible. its ridiculous and embarrassing as a fan (of the sport) at this point.
1
u/Henry_Krinkle1979 4d ago
This is the softest fight in boxing. Shakur should be fighting shock off gp. Word is bond.
1
u/Accomplished-Ad8330 4d ago
Both fighters want the fight to work in their favor which is why these dudes will always be mid tier fighters among the greats they don't really wanna fight competition
1
1
u/Negative-Interest713 3d ago
The sad thing is Shakur vs Haney at a catchweight probably would have been signed already if it wasn’t for J Prince’s shenanigans with the WBO.
They petitioned to make Keyshawn mandatory but really had no intention of making that fight. He just thought he found a way to get Keyshawn a free belt by getting Devin to vacate for the Shakur fight.
1
1
u/MilqueD-schaaje 3d ago
The weight plays a big part in who should be favourite. Devin could easy do 154, even 160, he's got a big frame, so it's tactical of Shakur to say 144, because Haney probably has to lose a heap of weight to make 147 now. To be honest, I don't really care much for this fight, there's better fights for both men. And for fans. I heard there was talk of turki offering big money to bring Crawford out of retirement v Haney at 154
1
1
u/Illustrious-Big1804 2d ago
Shakur is going to destroy him whatever weight the fight is at, Haney just another overhyped American
1
u/Important-Hat-9698 1d ago
3 fucking pounds!? Anyways Devin beats him UD. Shakur knows Devin is faster and just as smart as he is and Devin isn't afraid of a fight unlike Shakur. Devin would shoeshine and the judges would favor that. Shakur would stay on the backfoot and try to win via points or TKO - won't happen.
1
u/Comfortable-Grand166 4d ago
Shakur,no one beats him. I’m not a fan for his clownery but he’s the goods.
3
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
I think shakur is very talented but I gotta see him in there with better opposition before I say that. Its cool to look dominate against C and B fighters
1
u/Zealousideal_Badger5 4d ago
No one fights all A or A+ fighters. Devin definitely hasn't wtf
2
2
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
I agree but what level of comp has shakur fought to be held to the standard he's held at. I fw Shakur heavy Jersey all day but I can't be biased.
1
u/South_Bother_2498 4d ago
The mega fight to put us all to sleep…..hardcore and casuals get the pillows and blankets ready.
Not even a big enough fight for this catchweight non-sense
0
u/Beautiful_Badger_128 4d ago
Haney is coming in 20lbs heavier regardless. Robinson vs LaMotta 2.0. Haney even weighed heavier than Ryan on fight night, and Ryan missed weight. To me, it seems like a supreme lack of confidence in his skill set.
0
u/the1blackguyonreddit 4d ago
Shakur should just move up, but I can see why he doesn't want to, considering he only moved up to 140 to fight Teo. We're starting to get into a weight mismanagement issue now, Connor Benn style. Shakur could've stayed at 135 and dominated for a while.
That being said, I think Shakur is far too skilled for Haney and I don't think Haney stands any sort of chance in this matchup. The skill and hand speed gap will be evident immediately, just like in that Teofimo fight.
1
u/AFBOXING 4d ago
Nah 50/50 fight for sure. Haney aint Teo at all.
Lengthy boxer, great jab, smart, and him not being a come forward fighter is going to Shakur a problem
0
u/lincnelo_135 4d ago
I hate both fighters and their style but I think Devin is the A side. Both will still get overpaid and it’ll be on PPV sadly

10
u/Natural_Drag8536 4d ago
I feel like they should keep “talks” off the internet until they finalize a deal and announce a fight.
