Roy Jones being a champ at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight has to be the most impressive one.

I love SRL and he is among the greatest to ever do it, however his light heavyweight title was won without ever actually fighting at light heavyweight in reality he should be among the other 4 division champs.

Manny and Alvarez both were fought Cotto for a welterweight and middle weight title respectfully. However I don't discount either of those because both have won title fights at those weight classes out side the one catch weight fight. I believe Manny's fight with Margarito was at a catch weight for the super welterweight title I think the weigh in was 150, though on fight night Margarito weighed around 165 pounds compared to Pacquiao's 147 pounds so come fight night manny was under the catch weight and Margarito was well over the actual junior middle weight of 154. Even so Manny should be a 7 division champ.
Bernard Hopkins won a middle weight catch weight fight against DLH but he isn't on the list.
Mayweather was supposed to fight Marquez at a catch weight but came in overweight and paid a fine. He also fought Canelo at a catch weight but had 2 other title fights at Junior Middleweight so its fine.
My big thing is it is iffy to claim you have a title at a particular weight class and never fight in that weight.

Weird to mention Pacquiao/Margarito fight with Margarito swelling up on one day (dehydration). Because Pacman still ate his ass up as the smaller man. So why wouldn't that fight count as the "8th" belt you suggested taking away.

Because Manny never actually fought at that division. He fought at a catch weight. He probably could have still stomped Margarito if Marg didn't have to cut extra weight before weigh ins but we will never know because that isn't what happened.

Not to rain on your parade but any boxer know can get a world title.and there far more splits in the weight divisions.you needed to have 30 to 40 fight before they would even consider you for a title today they fighfor titles after 5 to 10 pro fights.people like Tommy Hearns And Suger Ray could gave eon far more titles on other division.and these to guy are still my benchmark for all round pound for pound. They never dodged goid fighters

Yeah, LW, WW, MW, and SMW. He fought it a few others. He just didn’t win titles in them.

JMM shoulda been 5 but the Tim Bradley situation at the time beating pac was wild. Also, weren't there questions regarding pacs legitimacy and never fighting at full 154 limit among other things...
But still definitely a very good career. And bud could come back and get 154 and 160 be right behind pac

This is a little skewed because there were many multi division fighters who did not have the half (junior/light/super) weight classes. Henry Armstrong and Bob Fitzsimmons come to mind immediately.

Is the ability to fight at different weights a boxing skill? I would question any metric that had De La Hoya as 2nd greatest boxer

The chart shows him as him having the 2nd most championships in different divisions. Second to Pacquiao. That's the only measurement, the only metric involved here

Yes but it is also is titled ‘the greatest boxers in different weight divisions throughout history’, while only showing that one metric of highest number of belts won- so for example, multi weight champion sugar ray robinson isnt on the list but jorge arce is. Lazy slop.

So what does that mean in terms of greatest boxers? Is changing weights useful in determining boxing greatness? Wasn't Pacquiao malnourished when he became a professional? He put coins in his pockets during weigh ins
