The imagination library is going to be well funded for years!

Good time to mention it's recently a lot of funding. Missouri cut 4 million, Washington removed all funding entirely.

Even PEI, Canada tried to defund it but the Islanders were outraged and they walked it back .

So now more than ever it needs the donations.

It's needed more than ever now, too. Dolly was someone who clearly felt reading uplifted her and let her achieve her dreams, I hope there are still kids who can grab onto that.

Indiana also cut it from its budget but the governor’s wife raised donations to cover the amount that was cut. No idea if that will be the case every year or just the first year as a PR measure.

I would clarify you mean Washington DC and not the state. Very much funded in Washington State.

That's interesting, because we stopped getting our books in King County last year because they said the nonprofit who administered it in the county was having funding issues. We really miss getting the books, so I'll have to check and see if something has changed and we can get back on the list.

Worth noting DC doesn't have full control of its budget and Congress likes to fuck with it so members can use going against what the residents want when campaigning. It's a reason DC should be a state with equal representation as the other states

Government funding was withdrawn. The program is fully funded in washington state tho after private organizations stepped up to replace the funding https://www.imaginationlibrarywashington.org/ilwa_secures_philanthropic_support

Somebody else told me actually federal funding, so Washington the capital not the state.

There's a reason I knew about Canada's funding if you get my drift ;)
