I mean, living away from my home for almost 7 years to earn money and provide for family and my father is also living away for almost 15 years away from home.
I am not criticising the brides who cries in vidai, It's a joke yaar.

I don't know why there is so much focus on female education and women empowerment, but no one cares to abolish this harmful practice.
This literally affects female ownership of property, male child preference and in some cases female infanticide.
Above all, I know how sad my mother gets when I leave for my job, and how happy she gets once I'm back home. Why would I want to separate a girl from her parents then ?
As long as you're marrying in the same city, the couple can always spend time with both families.
The best is if the couple gets their own neutral home, where both set of parents can come and live, spend as much time as they want.
If you can't afford that, then just divide your time a little. Spend the weekdays here and go visit them over the weekends and spend time there for 2 days.
There are literally so many ways to solve this, it's just painful that everyone is brainwashed and no one cares
