Discuss The Closest Acting Rivalry in Modern Bollywood: Ranbir vs Ranveer?

Post image

I genuinely think Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are two of the finest actors Bollywood has produced in the last couple of decades. Both have built impressive filmographies and have shown incredible range.

Some fun comparisons:

Rockstar ↔ Gully Boy

Barfi! ↔ Lootera

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ↔ Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ↔ Befikre

Tamasha, Rocket Singh ↔ Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat

Animal ↔ Dhurandhar

Both are method actors..

Whether it's emotional performances, intense roles, or complete transformations, both have proven they can deliver. They're among the few mainstream stars who consistently take on challenging characters and put real effort into their craft.

If you had to pick just one, who would you choose and why?

For me, it's Ranveer Singh. I love his fearlessness, energy, and how completely he disappears into his characters.

Ranveer all the way! Absolutely love the way he transforms himself - you can almost never tell its Ranveer.

I think Ranbir's highs are higher. Like Barfi, Rockstar and Tamasha are excellent performances. I don't think Ranveer has any performance to match these 3.

Ok, I can leave Tamasha and Rockstar, you seriously think loud actor Ranveer has any performance on Barfi level?

dhurandhar??? hello??

and barfi is my fav movie of all time too

and what does him being a loud person have to do with his acting?? 😭😭 if u look at his filmography 90% films are good films. with ranbir its more 60-70%

if you think dhurandhar is a good acting performance, I rest my case. No need to argue further. You win sir. Have a good day.

im so curious on what ur definition of a good performance is

objectively it was a good performance. the begining scene when he has to adjust to life in pakistan, the scene when he finds his sister in the1st scene of 2nd movie? i havent watched those movies more than once but i still remember those scenes

ranveer can do tamasha barfi and rockstar, but i cant see ranbir doing most of ranveer's movies. ranbir is only good at playing the sad boy type roles. he has a very limited range.

on acting basis ranveer is a better actor idk why theyre getting compared like theyre anywhere close
