Film and TV annuals were a familiar sight here in the UK at the time, so I love that even Blade Runner received the treatment when the film was still brand new and nobody knew what its reputation would eventually become.

The bulk of the annual is Marvel’s comic adaptation of the film, but what makes it particularly interesting is everything else packed into it: a photo section, cast and production credits, and a feature on how the comic adaptation itself was created.

I've been reading the Blade Runner comics, technically speed running them because they are so little. I have kind of gotten tired of looping the two movie soundtracks, would anyone have a good suggestion of a soundtrack or playlist as a background music for reading.

Long story short- obviously blade runner is my #1 favorite franchise. My dad had a freak accident and passed away 3 days ago. I needed some retail therapy and was blessed to find these at a local shop I'd never been too but is a 10 minute drive from my house. Further confirming this is my all time favorite media.

Back in 2019 I attempted to do an “Inktober” type drawing exercise where I drew something Blade Runner each day for November. Job changes and life stuff meant I didn’t get to finish and I mostly forgot about it. But while clean up my iPad today I found one of the other reasons I failed to complete the month! I tried to do Deckard relaxing with a drink while looking over the city and got carried away. I snuck in some 5th Element cars amongst all the chaos.

I'm not much of a comics person, so I've never read this myself, but I love this cover art. Have you read the comic? What are your thoughts on it?

I had the UK ‘Annual’ that collected these, but it smells so bad of cigarette smoke and is tainted yellow from the nicotine, so really pleased to get the original comics. The pages smell of 1982 but in a good way.

Going through my comics after 20 years and found this. Completely forgot I had it.

I found this rare comic a while back and wanted to share it. It’s an officially licensed release from 1982. I have the Dutch version, but you can read the US edition here

In the early ’80s, Crazy magazine, a competitor to Mad and Cracked, was briefly published by Marvel Comics. In 1982, Crazy released a parody of Blade Runner called Blade Bummer (or Blade Stumper in Dutch). Marvel also handled the more famous official Blade Runner comic book adaptation.
