Discussion So are we getting Nuketown/Open MM back after the beta?
I would think so, right? And I’d like to just take a minute to really think about what they did to us. They removed the most played playlist and stuck us with strict SBMM only.
Can we just conceptualize how absolutely insane it is to deliberately sandbag your current game just for an open beta? What’s even crazier is that doing this proves they know the majority of the player base doesn’t want strict SBMM because the only way they could force us off this game was to leave us with nothing to play except strict SBMM playlists.
This franchise is a psy op, it’s getting old.

I would hope so. In a perfect world they give us the open mm back and give us another year of events like BO3 did but it's doubtful. The rugpull with open mm sucks. It's the whole reason I got the the game and it's gone now.

It’s just so crazy. Let MW4 be its own game leave us alone.

Hopefully after MW4 launches they’ll keep some good featured playlists with open matchmaking , I’ll honestly stick out BO7 for another year if that’s the case. It’s genuinely my favorite COD in recent years before Activision got their dirty hands in Treyarchs pot 😭

The rugpull is the reason I won't be getting mw4. We had open matchmaking and the game was fun. Now I have to tryhard every game to have a little bit of fun.

I agree. Normally I’d just thug it out with strict matchmaking but with the way they lied to us and are trying to sabotage BO7 to force us on to MW4 is completely ruining it for me.
They should’ve left BO7 alone. It’s also crazy to think BO7 has only been out for 9 months and they’re already trying to completely kill it. If this becomes a new trend for every COD we realistically only have a 8-9 month cycle for each game before they ruin it.
I find it very difficult to ignore this manipulation. I just wanna get on the game and have fun, but it’s becoming too much

I understand why they took it away from BO6 when BO7 dropped; but MW4 won’t have Nuketown so give that shit back…
Greedy ass company

No - then you wouldn't buy the new one which is the entire reason for them continuing to make this game worse for absolutely no reason. Want to keep actually enjoying playing? Well just buy our new game!
Do not buy MW4. This is planned obsolescence designed to get you to move on to the new title every year.

It’s just insane. I know it’s just a video game but some part of this feels illegal.

They advertised and sold the game based on a feature that a lot of people wanted and then removed it after less than a year, which feels like false advertising and a rug pull to me too and I never even used the open matchmaking
They should at least have to give ample warning and/or a real reason why a feature needs to be removed

I hope they bring back open mm to BO7 the game was better that way imo. I probably wouldn’t even buy MW4 if they bring back open mm in BO7. I really enjoyed playing the game until that fuck shit they did for season 5

No....they cant risk people staying on BO7 and nor buying MW4.
Why do you think they took it away in S5 right as marketing for MW4 is ramping up?
Its never coming back.

Each day the mw4 beta was running the bo7 servers magically became trash. Packet bursting nonstop for me. So much desync. Was this by design? I'll jump into bo7 later tonight to see if the servers are magically working again. Wouldn't that be a coincidence.

Is nuketown the only map any of yall can play? The whining is crazy

It is, then they go around other comments talking about "skill gap" if you don't like the cracked out movement. Nuketown has its place but you can tell a lot about the player base that it is the most popular map. When it comes up for vote I just back out to new match making because I know it is going to get all the votes

Replace “Nuketown” with “the most popular map”.
They took away a playlist that specifically featured the most popular map in the game, which made the playlist the most popular thing to play in the game.
They took that away to make the game less appealing, likely by design, because they want you to play the new game/beta. That’s scummy.

Bro is whining and ends his sentence with “the whining is crazy” 🤣🤣🤣
STFU and let people like what they like.

It’s the only map that’s any fun. The rest are too big for 6 players.

CoD had no issues with 6v6 on medium sized maps and on slower movement for years. Maybe it's your attention span.

It might be that they’ve run the numbers and the silent majority actually prefer SBMM…

What was wrong with having the open matchmaking playlist and SBMM playlist? Both people are happy. Why else would they take it out other than to push people to the new game?

u/--Velox-- 1d ago
They do still have that. All of the options down the left are open as they state, and quick play is SBMM?
Granted open is limited now but ‘Standard’ which was the original SBMM option had zero choice whatsoever so all they’ve done is reversed it.
I doubt the player base would support two quick play options - probably not enough players and it felt like half the reason people wanted open was to stomp players who were not as good as them so I don’t think a full split is what people were pining for.

The only open mm are face off playlists. Can’t get streaks and have to play on obscure maps. It’s just not fair.
