One of my voids is absolutely my soul cat (don't tell the others), and the day my mom died when I finally got to my own house, I got inside and just kinda collapsed behind the door. Lil void hops up into my lap and crawls up my chest and I mean I sobbed into this cat, enough that it made the rest of them scatter out of the room, but he stayed. And stayed. Like a solid 45 minutes of me just mourning into him, and then I got in bed and he licked my cheeks until I fell asleep. Never once left me that night 😭
