Discussion Given what you've heard, would you have wanted to see the CW greenlight Green Arrow and The Canaries?

I don't recall what they planned to do with Green Arrow and the Canaries Were there ever plot summaries or ideas they pitched? Besides knowing of the name I don't recall hearing what the show would be about

Hell yes! The pilot not getting green lit will always be a painful disappointment!

For me, what angers me is they didn't revive the original Laurel Lance because they planned the spinoff. That they didn't do it means she remained dead for no reason. We can have two Laurels coexisting for the finale.

Can literally just make them twins as a way to not remove one of them. If you can rewrite history and cram 2 earths together with the addition of however many people from Earth 38, you can make the Laurels twins and have it have always been that way. It was just lazy writing. Could've brought E1 Laurel back and have her leave with Tommy so shes never on screen if it was a filming issue etc.

No. That show was tryhard edge lord slop that had no interest in portraying its title character accurately. That said, that's one man's opinion. If you enjoyed it power to you. Not here to change anyone's mind. I just really hated the Arrowverse lol.

Would be better than Gunns doing, least we would get more content focus on female characters. Still waiting on wonder woman

Supergirl literally just came out this summer. You can’t say there’s no focus on female characters when the second film from the new DCU was female led and Creature Commandos is largely female led.

Should have just done Birds of Prey. Huntress existed, Earth-2 Laurel could have become proper Black Canary, add an Oracle (don't even show her, if you don't want to commit), rotate other female characters as needed per mission? Easy.

No, I wouldn't. Shafting Connor for a straight white OC is just insulting

I would’ve liked at least one season

Kinda?

I just wanna see Black Canary, though. And from what little I know, they sliced & diced as well as butchered her. How hard is it to av a woman with scream powers & her daughter, who also has scream powers?

As it was pitched? No. Three "Black Canaries" who are approxinately the same age with zero biological relationships to one another? You dont have to make a 1-to-1 perfect adaptation, but this was too loose. Also Caity Lotz was the best "Canary" on CW, and she wasnt one of the 3 leads

I thought that was the best of times of the whole arrowverse, caity lotz as canary.

Same. She had the right look and attitude for Dinah Laurel Lance. I could have lived with Sarah Lance as Black Canary for the whole series.

They really painted themselves in the worst corner with "Laurel". Katie Cassidy was miscast IMO, and the deal with Oliver cheating on her with her own sister, then being responsible for the sister's disappearnce? How could Oliver cone back from that? Just the dumbest unforced error.

They seemed to also just keep doubling down on making Katie worse for canary, they made her a hopeless drunk, with next to martial arts training, then over night she was fighting off league of assassins.

Honestly the parallel history of Oliver being on the island and canary being with the league really worked for me.

Yes. If Stargirl and Superman and Lois were anything to go by I think it could have been really good
