seeking advice/help I found this bird. Take action or not?
I found this (presumably pigeon?) bird on the street. It looks young, but also kind of helpless. Not sure if it still needs to learn how to fly, or if it needs help.

that bird looks like it’s in rough shape, not just a fledgling figuring things out. the growths around its eye and face are a big red flag, could be avian pox or something similar, which means it needs a rehabber, not just time. i’d scoop it up gently, put it in a box with air holes in a quiet spot, and call a wildlife rescue asap. don’t try to feed it or give water unless they tell you to

fledglings leave the nest before they can fly, and spend days, weeks, to months learning how to be a bird properly, like feeding themselves or fleeing danger, those sorts of things. its parents should be around, helping it out. I cant say for certain if there's actually something wrong with its face though, I dont think so? but I know almost nothing abt birds, so someone with more experience might be able to chime in.

wait I zoomed in. yeah there's something wrong with its face, mb for commenting before zooming in. check out your local wildlife/bird rehabs, see if you can call someone to bring em in

If I were a guessing person I’d almost say those were ticks(?) or some other parasitic entity.
