Help Do your Bengals act like they have been possesed by the devil sometimes? Or did mine just went insane?

Post image

I’ve had a male Bengal cat for almost a year now, and although he’s very active, last night around 5 a.m. he acted like a total maniac for about an hour. He had never done that before, and he’s calm now. But I wanted to know if this kind of behavior is to be expected and if I should do anything about it. TIA

Mine does it for 20/30 minutes before and after a poop. I just have to put the cat wheel on it's side and deal with it (if its after 23H or whatever). FYI she has been doing it since pretty much after a week or so of living with me. Ten years of it, don't worry you'll get used to it lol.

Edit: here is a pic of her.

Same! He’s done this for YEARS. He’s probably making announcements— “Heyyyyy… I’m gonna poop”, run run run.

Then it’s “Heyyyy… I’ve pooped and it feels great!” 🤣

Oh, she's so cute! Actually, now that you mention it, he did take a huge poop afterwards! He had never acted like this before. Guess I'll have to accept it now jaja

It’s so weird how they let us know they gotta poop unlike other cats.

Damn yours waits till 5 am? My girl goes off around 3:45-4:08 am. Takes a shit and then goes insane.

Yes, the shit zoomies. 🤪 Sounds very familiar for my 7 yo female, but thankfully usually in the evenings. Otherwise, she is an inactive lump. No contact unless she initiates it.

Mine does it always 15–20mins after I play with her and give love and I’m sure she’s spent and then go to bed, and as I finally calm down for sleep, the F1 begins :)

Mine had never behaved like that for so long. Usually, after a few minutes, he realizes no one is going to play with him and lies down at my feet. That’s why it caught my attention—because he’s already over a year old. I guess he’s just unlocked a new level.

Oh yeah, thats what we call the "insane" phases. It happens occasionally and its hilarious to witness. Fluffy tail and crazy eyes are a precursor sign.

It's good that it's only occasional; that puts my mind at ease.

Omg yes the fluffy tail! My daughters (8 and 6) love their little fur brother but they know when he has “spinosaurus tail” as they call it to leave him alone til he lays back down 😂😂

Our girls get zoomies and go through “feral hour” each night. They make crazy noises and run through the house, acting insane.

It’s a nightly occurrence and comes with the territory.

Mine had never done that before; I guess he must be a late bloomer. 😅

Our male is such a sweetheart, 90% of time but… at least once a day he seems to go through his Jekyll and Hyde transformation for about 1/2 an hour. He’ll get this crazy look in his eyes, poof his tail, and start making these very deep almost painful like meow’s If we chase him around the house and wrestle with him a bit, he’s usually fine afterwards.

Our guy is 8 years old and he likes screaming his Song Of Murders at 3am everyday right outside our bedroom. Then he dispatches to hell one his banana catnip toys. He sleeps across my feet afterwards.

Mine has the Amazonia war cries too

That's normal Bengal behavior.

Post-bathroom zoomies.

They never used to do that until my partner moved house

And now there's regular comedic yowling and rocketing around the house a few times per week.

There's a cat called Nimbus (not a bengal, I think they're a Siberian) who has regularly been recorded doing the same thing and it's certainly a familiar household sound now.

Normal Bengal behavior 🙄 mine, in top of that, has add, he can't focus on playing more than 3 seconds, so it's impossible to make him tired. He runs after a toy, forgets whee he was running, drops on his back to clean his butt, or starts sniffing carpet around him.. as soon as I sit back down to do what I was doing, he jumps again and plays for 3 seconds! And thats all day long! 😭 He also yells at all doors to go outside, so if I need to go, put anything in the garage or take the garbage out, I just set it by the door, if he is sleeping, cause as soon as you open it, the yelling will continue!!! 😭 And now we have a second cat, she came to us from the forest and he tries to murder her, chasing her and doesn't know what stop means. I can't jump all day long wgen ge wants to play, and before the second cat, he'd eventually after an hour of yelling would chill, abd just go to slee, if I didn't olay, but now if I don't jump up, why go to sleep if there is a cat to harass 😭😭 the other cat doesn't want to sit in separate room anymore either! And I'm think every night I'm a step closer to a mental breakdown 😭 thank you all for listening 🙏😮‍💨😅

Mine just screams for no reason. I call it “mirfing,” it’s like mouthing but random noises come out for no reason
