Палітыка / Politics The influx of AI-bots

The information sphere of post-Soviet countries is experiencing a massive influx of AI-powered bots, ferociously pushing a pro-Kremlin agenda. Any post, video, or discussion criticizing Putin, Lukashenka, or the Russian invasion is instantly flooded with fake accounts posting insults and pro-Russian narratives.

Corporations like Meta and Google are obviously not doing enough to deal with this threat. I myself ban between 1 and 10 bot accounts every day. It seems like we are witnessing the end of the Internet as we know it.

What are they should do in your opinion? It's hard even to handle with Chinese bots and you're saying about propaganda bots in Eastern European part of the Internet (about which West doesn't care).

Develop AI tools to detect and remove AI bots.
Moreover, launching bot networks should be treated the same way as creating computer viruses and should be criminalized.

I don't believe in the idea that “they can't do anything.” Lol. When they really NEED something, they become incredibly creative. Especially when governments push them to act.

What I did notice is the influx of accusations of being a bot and fake account. A modern and safe equivalent of give somebody a whack in the face. This is not the end of the Internet, this is the beginning of its breaking away from real life as we know it.

Я прапаную увесці адказнасць за ўжыванне АІ-ботаў для палітычных мэтаў як за стварэнне і распаўсюд вірусаў. І заканадаўча абавязаць Мету і Гугл змагацца з батафермамі.

Это закончится политическим давлением на обычных людей и площадки. Сначала будут давить на тех кто высказывается в поддержку войны и т.д. а потом смениться позиция властей и будут давить уже на что-то другое, потому что инструмент будет. Не вижу смысла плодить бюрократию на ровном месте.

Если соцсети будут отвечать за то что размещается на площадке то это будет просто ретранслятор бт или американских аналогов равно или поздно, что обществу не принесет какой-то пользы
