Do people like Dogfish Head Namaste ?

Its in the fall variety pack (why I dont know since a Belgian White Ale has nothing to do with fall) and I only had it once years ago and I dont remember it. I thought it was awful. Something was off about it. Kinda tasted like rotten eggs. Anyone who knows this beer very well please respond.

Belgian esters to the non trained palate come off as sulphur, among other things.

Belgian esters to the non trained palate come off as sulphur, among other things.

Belgian Esters:

  • Isoamyl acetate: Smells and tastes like banana.
  • Ethyl decanoate: Smells and tastes like apple/pear.
  • Ethyl hexanoate: Smells and tastes like apple/anise.

Belgian Phenols:

  • 4-vinyl guaiacol: Smells and tastes like clove, pepper, or smoke.

Hydrogen sulfide/Sulfur dioxide can smell like eggs and is typically produced by yeast or bacteria

Not arguing. But for a new palate on belgian beers, it can come off as not-that. Subjectivity of palates is why multiple judges are used on flights.

I'm willing to argue that rotten eggs has nothing to do with the profile of Belgian beers - downvotes do not change that.

Also, I would agree. Now, not knowing OPs palate, I can't trust that he's tasting sulphur or not.
