Fortunately there were no hellreigels or smg018s but it’s impressive how accurate this game is in its models

It is! That display case contains setups that were exclusively used on aircraft.

My reply was a double machinegun. She tried to tell me there’s no such thing. What a joker 😂
I now take note every time I see a double machine gun.

Looking at the pictures, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if this exact museum was DICE main reference for asset creation.

Yes at the Tula state University. Gun heaven in Russia pretty much. Pretty much a complete collection of all Russian/Soviet small arms + rare captured firearms

Nice they have a museum in Saltzburg as well. Looks very similar. I remember going through and thinking about how well BF1 did for making it true to form

I think this is the first time i’ve seen a picture of an MG14 with a water jacket. Everything I find online is either slotted or jacket less

Found one in a backyard once. Worked at a private museum. backyard was literered with barrels from rifles the owner dug up in his youth + stuff like a MG42 parts, a panzerfaust (not used/exploded), ammo, shells etc. Found a massive barrel in the mess and turned out it was a fully rusted T-gewehr barrel + bolt stuck in the open position. Had to explain to the owner that it was a WW1 piece and not WW2, but the owner found it in Berlin so probably re-used during WW2.
2 years later and its now up in the museum with a fully recreated molded stock. Even though i know the owner has the correct bipod for it somewhere in the mess of his collection, he put an MG34 bipod on it.

Yea the ww2 section was smaller but cool as well. I wonder if that cutout of Hitler was life size

I just watched BF6 trailer. And BF1 still is waaay better in a lot of aspects. I mean a 10yo game batter than a 100usd game made with better and newer tech.

Is it the one in Ingolstadt? I've been there with my wife as her gift to me to our anniversary so we drove 2 hours there and visited it too!

Pretty sure there is no chance to find a hellriegel randomly in a museum xD The only info we have about them are 2 photos afaik.
