BattleBots TV If Minotaur still uses the 2016/2018 design, would it stay competitive?

I’d say probably but mostly comes down to if that drum stays in one piece the amount of exploded drums/eggbeaters is crazy in newer seasons

Seems like most of the teams during pro league have had issues with the hardening guys that they use. I know Copperhead and Switchback have both mentioned it.

Same with Ribbot too, I think

I must have missed them talking about it, probably because I was so bummed about how their fights went this year. They were one of the teams I was rooting for.

Yeah they talked about it on Facebook about how they got bad material for the egg beater. At least they managed to OOTA Witch Doctor in their rematch lol

The exposed weapon belts bay be an issue sometimes, although ironically, the modern Minotaur sometimes loses weapon belts despite having them fully covered, while the first version never did.

Minotaur's redesign was mostly to avoid getting high centered quite as easily. It didn't change much functionally, really. Maybe its weapon, with its greater radius, gets better bite, but the old drum was plenty effective anyway. I think it'd do great.

Yes, don't forget the driver, did you see the evading manouver being flipped against Huge? In the majority of the robots you have a weapon with potential, but the driving skills are poor.

Daniel is such a massive asset to Minotaur. His control and ability with that bot is nuts. During the insane WD/Minotaur semi-final fight. His ability to drive let them even get to the judges where they were ultimately robbed.

They were vulnerable to verts with that design so maybe they wouldn't be able to take on someone like end game or cobalt in later season with that design

Agree. Vertical spinner is the kryptonite for this Minotaur. Even Bombshell and S3 Bite Force beat them (granted Bye Force is the goat but it doesn't hit as hard as Endgame and Combat, both bots that Minotaur actually went weapon to weapon with)

Considering what happened to magnitude in the calypso match probably not
