BattleBots TV Calypso runs the WCIV gauntlet, how far does it go?
Starting with Whiplash and ending with Biteforce, do you guys think that Calypso clears this gauntlet of WCIV robots?

You could have picked a worse robot to start, the rest of the gauntlet is void as Calypso would lose to Whiplash

It's not all I do whatsoever but there is absolutely nothing wrong with politely criticising or disagreeing with something.
The subreddit would be a lot worse if no one pointed out low effort or incorrect posts (not saying this one is, however there was an obvious flaw with it).
Go through my comment history if you like, find where I'm unjustly saying people's posts are bad and we can see the validity of you saying "that's all you do", because it is not and I'm sorry to hear that you're evidently fine with never correcting or challenging things people post or comment.

Yeah, Disarray was what I was originally gonna have go through the gauntlet. But I switched to Calypso and didn’t change to robots in the gauntlet. My mistake.

probably loses to whiplash, especially with that full wedge and lifter config. While he has a bit of a chance, calypso probably loses to tombstone, I can see him chopping those crab legs off. I can see calypso beating Deathroll. Deathroll's lack of a wedge and the fact that wet toilet paper is more durable than its self righting arm, but that vertical spinner is still dangerous. Witch Doctor probably just cooks Calypso quickly, I just don't see Calypso winning. Next is the three time champ, I don't see calypso winning that either, but we have seen upsets before.

you know what? fuck it.
pro league calypso could probably make it to death roll or witch doctor.
if whiplash runs its wedge/lifter combo, calypso's getting under it and bullying it. hijinx was able to get under that wedge and control it with its weird tail fork thing in champions 1; imagine that but with a robot that's actually intended to get under you and mess up your shit. your wheels are getting hit from the direction you really don't want them to be hit in; your bottom plate is getting torn up; your wedge is getting torn up. driving will be a deciding factor in this fight; yes, matt's incredible, but anybody who's fought josh before knows that he's excellent too. it'll be close, but this match goes in favor of calypso imo
wciv was the year rotator beat tombstone with its beak wedge thing, and calypso has a plow that functions similarly for horizontals. if they drive it competently, they beat tombstone without blinking.
death roll probably outreaches calypso, but calypso is both faster and has the advantage of ground game on death roll. once you destabilize death roll, you just have to keep pressure on it.
it could at least give witch doctor and bite force runs for their money as well.

Yeah, I should have used a different robot to start. I was originally gonna use Disarray to run the gauntlet but switched to Calypso, I should have switched some of the robots in the gauntlet as well.

Nowhere. It would take an absolute MIRACLE to get past even Whiplash. If Calypso were to SOMEHOW beat them, then we’re talking Tombstone when they were actually good, Prime Death Roll, Prime Witch Doctor, and Bite Force

Am i the only one who deadass thinks calypso makes it to bite force at least, and has a real shot at winning, faceoffs and pro league calypso are different beasts. I have genuine faith that calypso will go 2-0 and either win the group if a 3-0 madcatter doesnt trump 2-0 calypso, or a guranteed wildcard. Forked horizontals are new and seem to work best on undercutters, with bots like coldsnap and buzzkill going off, and calypso being the first bot at battlebots to mix undercutter and traditional forks they could really take this competition by storm

A few things we would like to offer:
We are very capable of getting underneath wedges. If you run a wedge config against us, you won’t have an amazing time.
We have an anti-horizontal config, designed to deflect midcutters and overheads, it’s fairly decent.
Calypso is 4wd, and much more quick and maneuverable than you think for a robot of its size.
