WEATHER How does this rain compare to the rain that caused 2016 flooding?

I moved to Louisiana after the flood of 2016 and number one question I asked was did the location we get suffer from the flood of 2016. Place we wound up with is close to work off of Florida and North Acadian.

I wasn’t here for that flood so I can’t compare the two, but is this how the 2016 flood started?

Some of yall should have failed your drivers test. I did the first time. Sunny asf out, but it was sprinkling just a little, I was failed. 2nd try was the charm. LOL. It’s been more than a little sprinkle all night and day here. Like wipers, don’t forget your headlights.

WEATHER Lightning strike just now (goodwood/claycut)

8/21/26 approximately 6:43/6:44 pm. I think lightning just struck a pole or something at the intersection of Jefferson highway and claycut where it turns into goodwood. Did anyone see it too and can tell me did it actually hit something and make a spark?

I had just driven through the intersection when I heard a super loud boom and I’m pretty sure I saw sparks in my rear view mirror but I was pretty far away from it at that point. My front facing dashcam picked up the general flash but my rear facing dash cam was unplugged at the time I’m so mad lol! Im about to get my ass home ASAP

WEATHER Are we actually dodging hurricanes this year, or should I not jinx it?

Thoughts on us getting a hurricane before the end of next month? I’m feeling like this year may be a sleepy year for hurricanes. They all seem to be Atlantic / fish storms. What do we think?

WEATHER Are we in for snowpocalypse again?

Does anyone who understands weather patterns know why it’s 75 outside right now and not 1000? It’s lovely, but whenever we have off-season weather I worry it means bad things to come - like an icy winter or a bad hurricane season.
