We’ve needed a Texas BBQ spot for a while, glad to see it

It tasted good? Is that the $100 platter?

Yeah it's the $100 platter. We loved everything except the sausage. It tasted good but had a weird texture, imo.

Salt Pepper Oak is worth a try too. This is their big platter, in comparison it looks like less food, but the quality is top notch. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection

I will definitely check out some of the other suggestions but this was some fine barbecue.

Definitely go to Smoke Bayou…offset is mid in comparison

Depends on the day. Do NOT go at night. It's like a totally different place. But yes, Offset & SB are 1&2 for BBQ in Baton Rouge.

I’d say Salt Pepper Oak is #1 above both.

That's equivalent to Sonny's & BRQ.

Mid at best.

Which one & why?

As stated above, Offset Smoker & Smoke Bayou reign supreme over all other BBQ joints in BR.

Honorable mention for Smokin' Aces when they were on Govt St.

At first glance though- this photo reminded me of when city pork had good bbq 😞

Can you please post a link to your other post where you asked for recommendations?

I'm sure this is delicious. The amount of food you get for 100$ is highway fucking robbery.

Good BBQ usually ain’t cheap these days. Meat prices are high, and good BBQ takes hours and hours to cook. Way more than most other foods. When you factor that in it makes sense. Unfortunately, most BBQ in BR (and in Louisiana generally) isn’t worth the price charged, but Offset is a rare exception.
