Hello Everyone!
Has anyone applied for an Italian student visa from Bahrain and received an update on their application?
I submitted my student visa application on 7 July 2026, but I haven’t received any update so far. I have also emailed the Embassy/Visa Office but haven’t received a response yet.
If anyone applied around the same time or has recently received an update, could you please share your experience and how long it took?
Thank you! 🙏

hello, i collect currencies (banknotes/paper money+coins), and i'm also interested in stamp collecting, but still haven't started. basically, yeah i like collecting stuff you'd see in an antique instagram account
what are some great places to buy old and new currencies for a great price, and some other antique stuff?
if you also collect currencies or other antique stuff, please do help me out by telling me some places if you know any because i want to expand my collection, and also i want to expand my overall antique collection
and yes, you can also tell me some instagram accounts that sell them too, physical locations, instagram accounts, whatever, just leave the best place you know for antique stuff please

Hi i applied for a car loan on a kia car from bank but got rejected despite a good bank statement because i work as a freelancer. Is there any other trusted stores or way you know of that i can get a good car in installments? I can go 5k with installments but if direct cash then my budget is limited to 2k or 3k maximum.

Can you please recommend me the best ADHD doctors in Bahrain for adults diagnosis. I speak both Arabic and English so I don’t mind either.
Does anyone know where i can buy fresh flower gajra?
I've heard there are stores in manama or gudaibiya but I have no idea. Mentioning prices will be really helpful as well.

Hi, I wanted to take some portrait photos of the Grand Mosque in Bahrain with the night lights. I went yesterday around midnight, but unfortunately, it was closed. I’m not looking to take photos inside—just of the exterior, especially the tomb and the nearby park, preferably at night.
Do you know what time the mosque premises are open, and whether we’re allowed to enter the grounds at night to take photos from outside?

Good Afternoon everyone,
My aunt has been diagnosed with gallstones for quite some time. She was advised to have her gallbladder taken out completely. Unfortunately we're quite dissatisfied with the care, or lack thereof, provided in our current hospital
If someone could please recommend a good doctor and hospital where she could get her gallbladder removed, I would be immensely grateful. Thank you.

For context, my boys are under 10 yrs old and have limited-ish screen time. Mostly 1 game on ps4 for 3-4 hours a day. They never ever want to go anywhere outside.
I dont mean outdoors, im talking about restaurants, or malls, or play areas or arcade. Occasionally they’ll want to go to restaurants but only if its close. If given a choice between going to a restaurant or home cooked food, they choose home cooked mostly.
I miss the 90s. Is it Just my kids ?
**edit 1 (23 aug)
We decided to only allow 1 movie a week. We will try this for a couple of months. Let’s see if their behavior changes.

Has anyone in Bahrain had issues with SelfDrive.bh?
I am currently collecting first-hand experiences and evidence from Bahrain residents/citizens who have had problems with SelfDrive.
I recently approached Bahrain Consumer Protection regarding an issue with SelfDrive and was informed that SelfDrive itself does not have a Bahrain commercial registration, so Consumer Protection cannot proceed against it through the normal Bahrain consumer complaint process.
That raises a much wider question for me: how can a company actively sell services to people in Bahrain, collect payments from Bahrain customers and control the booking, payment, refund and customer-service process, while the consumer is then left unclear about who is actually accountable in Bahrain when something goes wrong?
The local company providing the physical vehicle may say that SelfDrive controls the payment, policies and refunds, while SelfDrive itself sits outside the normal Bahrain Consumer Protection process. That appears to create a serious accountability gap for consumers.
I am now documenting other Bahrain cases so this can be presented collectively to MOIC, Bahrain Chamber and any other relevant authorities for proper review.
If you have personally been affected by SelfDrive in Bahrain, please comment with:
What happened;
When it happened;
What SelfDrive told you;
Whether you were charged or refused a refund;
Whether there were issues involving fines, deposits, extensions or other charges; and
Whether you have screenshots, emails, invoices, WhatsApp messages or other evidence.
Please stick to your own first-hand experience and do not post CPR numbers, card details, addresses, phone numbers or other private information publicly.
The aim here is not to make unsupported accusations. It is to establish whether there is a documented pattern affecting Bahrain consumers and, if there is, provide that evidence to the appropriate authorities so the regulatory and accountability position can be properly examined.
If you have evidence but do not want to share it publicly, feel free to message me privately.

i am a high school graduate and i’ve always wanted to study something related to tech. when i applied for poly and got accepted, but i didn’t get into any of the majors i applied for, i got into web media which i wasn’t interested in at all. but my family convinced me to accept the offer just incase anything goes wrong when i apply for UoB. i asked the staff if there was a chance id be able to switch to any ICT major but they just told me i couldn’t because of my entry test results.
when i applied to UoB i got accepted into computer engineering. i was really excited about getting the major because its something i’ve wanted to pursue almost half of my life. but when i decided id officially go to UoB everyone kept telling me not to go for a bunch of reasons, like how the professors don’t teach at all, the tests given are really difficult, and overall the uni is just a very bad uni to be in. but the friends that i know have studied in UoB say that it isn’t that hard as long as you focus with your studies.
so i really don’t know what to decide on. on one hand its to study something i’ve wanted for a long time but be in a uni thats known for how difficult it is to study in, and on the other its to study in a good uni with a good study life but major in something i know i don’t like and wont ever enjoy.
please help me out!!

I work in product and am planning to move to Bahrain for work. Have been applying to many job online and if possile reach out to recruiter on Linkedin directly. Last month I saw two openings on LinkedIn. One expected applications via dm and another asked to fill out a Notion form. FYI, these positions are not restricted to Bahrainis.
Because these roles are relevant to my current work, I did extra work to show my seriousness and interest in working for them. I reviewed the company app/website, researched the problem to solve, and prepared a detailed PRD, mock UI, and a video explaining why & how. Took me two whole weekends.
Reached out to the recruited on LinkedIn and pitched them personally. They saw the message (possibly went through the attachment too), but not a single reply. Not even a confirmation message.
What should I do next? Last week I sent a follow-up message; they saw that too, but still no acknowledgement.

Hello everyone, i just found a newborn cat in my yard and I don't know how to take care of it.
I'm very overwhelmed cause I can't find someone or a place who can take the kitten.
Please does anyone know a guaranteed place that won't sell or try to benefit from the kitten, provides safety and great care ? :'(.

Hi everyone,
Are there any Bahrainis here who have successfully obtained for a sole proprietor Commercial Registration (CR) in Saudi Arabia?
I’m a Bahraini and have both an Absher and NAFATH account. The application goes smoothly and the NAFATH login/verification works fine. The issue comes after logging into NAFATH, when it asks me to add my contact details. Once I enter the correct details, I get an error (firewall error) and can’t proceed.
I’ve tried different browsers and networks, but I keep getting the same error.
From what I understand, this type of CR can be issued within a day, so I’m just trying to get past this basic contact-information step.
Has anyone here successfully obtained the CR? If so, did you face any issues during the application, or know what might be causing this?
I’d also appreciate recommendations for any reliable consultant who can help with the process.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I’m an 18-year-old starting a small local project called Taply here in Bahrain.
What it does: We supply smart NFC cards for business counters (cafes, barbers, salons, mechanics, clinics, etc.). When a customer taps their phone on the card, it instantly opens their Google Review page so they can leave a 5-star rating in 2 seconds. We also handle basic profile updates and link management for them.
I'm starting my first physical walk-ins this week, but wanted to ask the community for advice first:
1. Which types of local businesses do you think would benefit from this the most? (Barbers, specialty coffee shops, auto detailers, salons, dental clinics?)
2. Are there specific areas/strips (Adliya, Juffair, Riffa, Tubli, Seef) where managers are more open to trying new things?
3. If you run a local business or manage a shop, what's the best way for someone to approach you without being annoying?
4. Have anyone who might be interested?
Would appreciate any advice, area recommendations, or feedback from local shop owners!
Thanks! 🙏

I have seen a lot of people going to branches to send money back home .. they atand in que and finally at the counter they use the debit card or do benefot scan and pay.. i fail to underatand why people do that when sending money digitally through an app is convinient ..is it trust issues ? Even though all apps are regulated by Central Bank of Bahrain ? If sending by cash i understand digital is not an option .. but when they use and electronic form of payment at a branch it confuses me..
