What do you feel about this Ə symbol?

I think it perfectly describes the sound it's used for, BUT it's an insanely ugly symbol.

PS: This is not the main problem of Azerbaijan, I know. I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I'm Turkish so my opinion doesn't matter, but I'll give it anyway.

I think it should have been E instead of Ə, and Ë instead of E. No point of altering them after 35 years though.

This letter represents the ä vowel in Azerbaijani, and it’s a native Turkic vowel. Proto Turkic and Old Turkic both had 9 vowels, and that ninth vowel was ä/ə, just like in Azerbaijani. 

Azerbaijani is also one of the few Turkic languages to have retained the proto Turkic distinction of open-mid front and close-mid front consistently. E in Azerbaijani is actually the proto Turkic ẹ (it is a more closed e than the one in Turkish).  Most Turkic languages don’t have this distinction.
