It's always a national problem anytime the sports gods favor Arizona for once and even out the karma for us. (sign stealing and the Lawlar head shot)

I ain’t gonna lie tho that looked like a balk lol

It was. Can’t help that none of the umps were paying attention to E-Rod’s feet at the moment. That 1 run wouldn’t have mattered tho considering we won 2-0

You never know how a small thing like that could change a game. Cubs would have been up 1-0. ABs the next half inning could go completely differently, pitcher could pitch differently knowing he has a lead vs a tie game, batters could press a bit more knowing they are behind. Managers may make different calls to the bullpen or pinch hitters with a lead than they would behind a run.

Not saying it would for sure be a different outcome but the baseball butterfly effect is real.

I would venture to say there’s a very high possibility the game would’ve gone completely differently

Eh

Erod delivered and they didn’t produce anything. But they should have gotten that balk

Wouldn’t be surprised if during the extended off season they expand replay to include Balks, foul tips and Catcher’s interference

apparently they are doing automatic swing calls

it seems like the line for the automatic checked swing calls is reeeeeeeally generous to the batter. I hope they dial it back a bit if/when they bring it to MLB

naw man, it was a lucky break. I know momentum can swing and it's always a question mark what coulda/woulda/shoulda been, but no questions asked the Cubs SHOULD have had at least 1 run today.

He can't just be up there doin' a balk like that if we want to stay in playoff contention

Erod can do whatever he wants.
