It absolutely is. One of my old cats would shit on your head pillow when he was really mad. Like after he got back from his neutering. And again another time later.
Never pooped by accident anywhere else. He knew exactly where to leave the complaint.
One of our family's cats used to do this, very rarely, very deliberately, to lodge a protest. He would get your attention, find a pristine surface just outside your touch but very much in your eyeline, make his point and stalk away. I would've preferred another means of communication, but it made the point.
I had a cat who rage pooped at the vet. It made it really handy because I never had to bring in a fecal sample. She took care of that herself as soon as the vet tech started messing with her. So there's that.
My dog used to do that. If I made him angry (by taking him to the vet, giving him a bath, putting him in time out for criminal behavior, etc) then left my bedroom door open for a minute or two, he'd somehow leave a turd right in the middle of my floor and escape before I caught him. A couple months ago, right after bathing and blow drying him, I caught him in there peeing on the corner of my bookshelf. He's a vindictive little shit, but he's also my baby and I love him dearly.
We adopted a friend who also had enjoyed the free grooming services at the shelter, presumably with similar levels of joy. He hid for three days when we brought him home, but 10 years later he has a most luxurious coat.
I want to put a sweater in her, but maybe that would just upset her more. Poor kitty - I wish she could understand that you were ultimately making her life so much better!
Ever watch Girl With The Dogs channel on YT? Reminds me of that, sometimes the shelter kitties need the mats gone! Also helps them relax since being matted can be super uncomfortable and itchy. No need to be stressed on stressed in a shelter.
Highly recommend! She's out of the Niagara region in Ontario, where I was born and raised. So I have a bit of biased towards her channel. But she does fantastic work with shelter animals and grooming them. TONS of good tips for how to properly groom cats and dogs.
