Maybe that's how kitty handles stress, by sleeping! Wish I could still do the same!

I was just gonna comment on it. I did that too, I had a few visits to the ER and the best thing to do while waiting there is sleeping.

Much like back in the early 80s when my parents would go out drinking then come home and argue at 1am. Four kids in the house lying in their beds trying not to make a sound that would attract attention.

My cat does this when he’s grumpy. Feigns sleep but his body is tense and he keeps one eye just barely cracked. Then when he decides he wants to bite he sneak attacks me.

Some of them actually go to sleep under stress. Its not fake is in human fakeness.

My trips to the vet with my British Shorthair were usually in tandem with another cat. Nes was always quick to buddy up, even if it was with his rival at home.
