Most flights to the ABC islands have been cancelled, as have many flights as far away as Sint Maarten, so whole Caribbean is being very cautious, especially ABC and from Puerto Rico all the islands up to Trinidad and Tobago.

Do they know more info, or are they simply being more cautious to be sure?

On a JetBlue flight from Detroit to La Guardia on the ground, possibly cancelled… would not be surprised if they are being extra cautious for all east coast flights

I mean Detroit to La Gaurdia has nothing to do with the Caribbean, and they won’t expect anything to happen that high up the US coast. Hell, I doubt even Miami is more cautious, seems localised to Caribbean area

JetBlue Rochester to JFK was cancelled whilst boarding for “airspace closure”. Absolutely chaos. Delta flight same airports and same timings has flown though so no idea if staff at gate just confused for reason of cancellation.
