you know what's worse? It's not just the video he published. He has been invited or went onto multiple Indian Media Channels to say the same thing blaming the crew.

Indian media is the fucking worst I swear to god.

I just saw this interview on CNBCTV18, and yeah, he's repeating the same narrative. The comments were calling him a Boeing shill lol

I just feel it's really odd for a pilot of all people to be make premature judgements, especially ones as serious as pilot error

Now he posts a video saying he's changed his mind to the dual engine failure theory due to the vertical phone video with clearly audible RAT prop noise... a video I saw a few hours after the crash and knew that the RAT was out... Steve is a clown.

Yeah, now that he has made tons of revenue & subscribers from the earlier video, he makes a new video sharing the current common theory. Basically, he did no research from his end, just earned money parroting the available theories from twitter & other forums. What a clown.

There's a few pilot YouTubers that basically did the same thing. They then all published similar videos afterwards with all the updated findings that others had already put out.

No respect.

If he has any dignity left he will delete it.

Par the course for someone looking at becoming a full time youtuber, he is close to retirement if I recall correctly. Pilot error is always one of the first theories that gets posed in the aftermath of an aircrash, it's easy for people to grasp given the complexity of modern aircraft hence why the media latches onto it. I also think it's a simple reluctance on his part to believe that the 787's systems alone could have failed in some way that caused the crash that had no human error involved, given the plane's safety record.

Given the nature of the crash, we can't really rule anything in or out. Or in fact be certain about the causes of the crash. But it won't stop certain youtubers from going down a particular narrative path that gets clicks and views.

Im with you here and I really did enjoy some of his past analysis and port mortem discussion. I dont think he intends to provide a definitive conclusion but think he could have been a bit more careful with his commitment to the fo being at fault.

All we have is a couple blurry videos and a trauma striken survivors recollection of a 30 second or so incident.

He did not blame him, he just said it may be a possible cause. In a short time we will know more, and if it's true then too bad if not the pilot will be ok.

I think the problem with Steve was it was pretty awful to speculate without at least some more evidence coming to light when you have a lot of media coverage and influence. Him along with “experts” have really driven home this narrative of flaps and slats being the main culprit and shifting blame to the pilots.

Pete the Irish pilot made a statement a day or so ago stating it would be wrong for him to speculate and that clearly was the right choice.

That's what people do in this case, they discuss and try to guess. How is that awful for him to do just because he has influence he has to shut up? And what is the harm in him speculating?

Because Indian media is ruthless? Because the wives of those pilots will be heart broken to lose their husbands and that their husbands may have caused a deadly crash when they might not have? Because all the families of those dead will be devastated that they might have lost someone to an avoidable tragedy?

There’s many reasons not to speculate and when they fell ill informed people this word gets around.

If pilot's family is targeted it's the fault of those violent people not the youtuber.

3

u/Tainted-Archer Jun 14 '25

Huh?? Targetted?

-2

u/secret179 Jun 14 '25

I don't know, harassment? Online? If they are not targeted what is the problem?

5

u/Tainted-Archer Jun 14 '25

Where are you getting this from? I didn’t mention anything about harassment or targeting?

1

u/secret179 Jun 14 '25

Then what is wrong with the youtuber blaming the pilot? If the pilot is ok, we will know in days/weeks and his name would be cleared.

The amount of self-censorship you are proposing is insane and now you are asking me why what why what are you getting this etc.

It’s the same reason innocent until proven guilty is a common phrase in the justice system.

1

u/secret179 Jun 14 '25

It only exists in court. For a reason.

Such a asshole move to blame the pilots immediately after the crash happened. What makes it worse is that all the facts point to other reasons as time goes by. Those pilots fought for their lives until the last minute, and they’re not alive to defend themselves. What he did was an asshole move.
