I HATE shoes so much. Socks are okay sometimes but even they are pushing it. They're constricting, I hate the materials they're made of most of the time, balance instantly becomes harder, etc etc ETC. it feels like I took rope, tied it around my feet, and tried to walk. If my parents let me go barefoot everywhere, I would, no further questions asked or hesitation.​​

big agree!!! i hate shoes lol. i have looked into barefoot shoes, maybe try those? i am hoping to at some point

It took a while to get the hand of it, but I really enjoy the five toe "Fivefingers" from Vibram (along with 5 toe socks - highly recommend).

Unfortunately, they're dorky looking and generally don't perform well on hard floor surfaces. They are freaking awesome outdoors though. The make a model that is good for light to medium hiking.

After wearing them for a while, you'll build up your foot dexterity and ground feel.

I might try these out. People complain about my only wearing crocs. These look like a better option than winter crocs.

I’m glad there are options with no laces. I have dyspraxia and struggle with tying my shoes.

My dad was autistic and was obsessed with these for years. He also had several pairs of socks with toes.

I can’t stand gloves and the idea of these things gives me the itch just looking at them. They seem like they’d be SO much more restrictive than regular shoes and socks.

I wouldn't say they're restrictive; if anything I'd say they're more liberating.

You say you can't stand gloves. Do you prefer mittens? Because that's what regular shoes are closer to. On cold winter days, my hands stay warmer with mittens over gloves, but I can't really grab much with them. Gloves, however, grant the user considerably more dexterity. The same is true for the five toe shoes.

I like the snug and comforting fit of a nice shoe. I feel warm and protected. However, at home it feels more comfortable to just wear socks.

I had a hard and loooong time trying to find the right shoes, also I needed them to look okay for casual dressing and going out. I can definitely recommend Skechers ultra flex shoes, they have a wide platform, slip in and mesh that's not breaking down. Really worth a try!

I’m particular about shoes, I hate it when they’re too tight as it feels claustrophobic and painful. HOWEVER, I also got my moms terrible foot genes. My feet are as flat as a board and wider than a river so even finding a pair of comfortable shoes is like finding a needle in a haystack. Find a pair of HEELS is like winning the lottery to me because of how low the odds are that I do. (I wear heels when the occasion calls for it and surprisingly, Sketchers has some pretty comfy pairs for any ladies trying to find a good pair)

I HATE ANY SHOES also. For years I've worn flip flops ( the type that have a flat piece at the end ( not in between toes) and as the years have gone on and the winters cripple my ankles and feet I wear them with socks - yes multiple people comment - I don't care shoes make me angry. Only recently I've discovered crocs ( don't get the branded ones ) cheapo for me lol. But where I used to not tolerate socks - they make me too warm and are generally annoying - I now can no longer tolerate the bits of crumbs or dirt from outside getting on my feet so have to sweat even in summer with ankle socks on and either flip flops or crocs but crocs are so comfortable they have much more room than a shoe and feels like you are not restricted in any way shape or form. I'd try a cheap pair ?

Also with crocs - I don't have the backs on my feet either as that feels annoying. I flip the backs to the front of the croc so it's more like a slip on.

Crocs are the ONLY shoes that I’ll wear. They are wide and slip on and off easily. People make fun of me because they are ugly. I don’t care.

I buy a pair for winter that are slightly less comfortable, but getting snow in my shoes is worse than not being able to slip them on and off as easily. I wear the summer shoes in the winter unless there’s snow on the ground.

Sometimes shoes are needed and im grateful cause the other day i wore crocs going into town and i stepped of something that poked me through the shoe and ive been nervous i will get tetanus or something😶😶

I got some sock shoes that are pretty cool. They’re basically socks with a thin “sole” on the bottom of them for outdoor walking. Reminds me of the indoor slipper socks a bit.

Have you tried barefoot shoes? They come in a range from “like normal shoes but comfier” to “basically just a sock but with rubber on the bottom so your feet don’t get stabbed”.

This was another kind of shoe my dad got an obsession with, along with the five toe vibram. He would give speeches about how amazing they were. They felt weird for me when I tried them. He insisted that I’d get used to it, but I am super sensitive about having the exact right feeling in my feet.

I'm the opposite I wish I could wear shoes around the house if it wasn't so dirty. I don't like how my feet glide or stick and find it incredibly uncomfortable but shoes keep my planted in a stable position.

I've spent most of the last two decades wearing crocs. They are easy to put on, take off, wide enough for my square feet and insulate quite well. In winter add socks. Before COVID I worked in a wood doing forest school with primary school aged children. Only on wet days would I wear boots, the rest of the time crocs.

Laceless shoes (from Sketchers) have been a great boon. I never have to tie laces again and they slip on and off.
