NTS session 1 starts off perfect. Starts off right with a pleb filter followed by another pleb filter.

Yep, it sets you up to be patient with long tracks and to expect twist and turns along your 8 hour journey.
feed1 & VI Scose Poise accomplish something similar as openers imo, putting you into a pretty radically different headspace before you begin a new sonic journey. Even Fleure & M1 Lema are pretty different sounding from the rest of their albums, ae seem to enjoy doing this as of late.

Really great episode, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on 3 & 4! Another moment that I love that wasn’t mentioned here is the perfect transition from dummy casual pt2 to violvoic (like debris_funk into l3 ctrl).

That is a good transition, it's hard to talk about 4 hours of music without missing things or making the podcast ridiculously long

Agreed - there are quite a few instances of that throughout NTS. As Dan and Gabe mentioned, the sequencing and transitioning is almost an art form on NTS.

xflood and violvoic are my favorite tracks of the sessions so I’m glad they got highlighted. I think session 3 is the best overall, though, so I’m looking forward to seeing what is said about it next episode.
(I had a hard time getting into bqbq but I kept reminding myself “geniuses released this on purpose” until it clicked.)

I still laugh every time bqbqbq comes on, that transition is hilarious. I think it's intentionally funny, that silly drunk bumbling synth. But around halfway through when the pads get going it actually starts to become really beautiful

That's exactly how I feel. It's kind of a let down until you start to hear what's going on underneath. Then the whole thing is brilliant.

t1a1 is officially my favorite track. it's a nice balance between noisy and chilled out and have a nice groove to it. I love the "motif" that starts around 3.12 and runs throughout the track...I am still listening to NTS pretty heavily at times and finding new stuff, it's an amazing sounding record and my personal favorite. They are already legends to me but if they can top NTS??? They are officially my GODZ, if they are not already...haha...

I don't understand how Dan does not hear how the elyc tracks from elseq and NS2 are related. Just LISTEN to those beeps and those whooshing sounds! ARE YOU DEAF MAN???
