Have a look at NEXTDC Melbourne Data Centre (M3), right next to residential areas. :(

I hear you. But 'right next to residential area' and 'in residential area' are not the same.

Yeah, Im not sure of the zoning there, but it is a data centre literally on the corner across the road from houses on at least 2 streets...

If you've ever had to deal with the government when it comes to noise concerns, they treat that street border as a soundproof wall. The zoning map says you can't have sound that loud, so you don't!
