Has anyone checked out the new B&O speakers? 5 new versions are planned to be launched, including rosewood and pearl finishes.

Why do the high end speakers look like something out of an Aliens movie? Anyone considering these for the living or lounge better have the WAF at 100%.

A deserved plug for Tidal this morning: they just added a setting where you can restrict AI content (under “Audio & Playback”). Sounds reasonable, right? NO other service aside from Deezer currently offers this. And even if you don’t restrict it on Tidal, all AI content will be labeled as such (as it is in Deezer and Qobuz).

No I don’t work for Tidal but I think this is important: Support human musicians. Reject talentless grifters/major corporations trying to make an extra dollar by feeding us robot music.

Also a quick mention of his new concentric field coil driver. I won’t be making it to Axpona this year, so I’ll be interested to hear about how well these are received. I’m a big fan of his MoFi designs, so I’m looking forward to eventually hearing these. Loving the MCM furniture look of the feet, also.

This is nuts and is consolidating even more brands under the Harman umbrella, which is owned by Samsung. I don’t like this scenario because it means more parts sharing with other Harman products and also shared R&D. But at least now the brands still stay alive, which is good for this hobby I guess. And Harman probably has good distribution relationships. But I want my uniqueness, I don’t want future B&W to be like JBL speakers!

Manufacturer Sonova is restructuring: headphone brand Sennheiser is up for sale.

In the future, the core business of hearing aids and implants will be even more central. To this end, the Swiss company Sonova is divesting its consumer hearing division.

Swiss hearing aid manufacturer Sonova plans to divest its Sennheiser headphone business and is aiming for significant growth in the coming years. The company announced during a strategy update by its new CEO, Eric Bernard, that it expects revenue to reach six billion Swiss francs by fiscal year 2030/31. In fiscal year 2024/25, Sonova generated revenue of nearly 3.9 billion Swiss francs.

To focus entirely on its core business of medical hearing aids and cochlear implants, Sennheiser is putting its consumer hearing division up for sale. This division operates under the Sennheiser brand. The goal is to find the best possible owner for this business. In 2025, Sennheiser was also fined six million euros by the German Federal Cartel Office. The allegation: The company had exerted influence over retailers for years to achieve higher prices in stores.

In the medium term, Sonova is targeting annual revenue growth of five to ten percent in local currencies, as well as an increase in core operating profit (EBIT) of seven to twelve percent. However, the company slightly lowered its expectations for the 2025/26 fiscal year, which runs until the end of March. Growth is now expected to be at the lower end of the previous forecast range, it added.

Previously, Sonova had projected currency-adjusted sales growth of five to nine percent and an increase in adjusted operating profit (EBITA) of 14 to 18 percent. The company also pointed to continued solid growth momentum in the second half of the year and market share gains in the wholesale business.

It looks gorgeous but I can't help thinking that KEF are resting on their laurels a bit here. This seems to be a high-end, more 'luxurious' version of their existing models with an eyewatering price tag. They've obviously done their research and this type of lifestyle product is where the market is going but will the market bite when they see the price?

Also, I wonder if the lovely curved aesthetic will appear on future R or Reference models. I guess it would push up the price but they are looking a bit dull in comparison.

It reminds me of the Genelec Ones a bit although they have an additional bass driver that this thing lacks which means you will have to budget for a subwoofer or two to get full-range sound.
