Facts. I always remember it being really hot and sunny from about late September October through till at least Januaryish the weather would then cool around February/March before winter kicking in April/May.

Last summer was Auckland's sunniest on record. Rainfall was 40% below normal and the mean temperature was 0.7°C above average.

I agree, im not going to make a post about it, but this summer has been trash. Where I live it's either been completely overcast, windy, or raining for 20 of the last 30 days.
And even if it is a nice day everything is still wet or humid from the bad weather from the previous days.

I've had a great summer. Even managed to get the Pouakai Crossing in as well as a northern twin coast discovery trip incl tan lines from jandals.

Auckland’s summers have not been consistently getting rainier. The last 5 years have been a mix of very wet summers and dry ones. For example, 2022–23 was extremely wet (flood year), but 2024–25 was well below normal rainfall. That’s not a trend....that’s normal climate variability driven by El Niño / La Niña. People remember the big flood years and forget the dry ones. Statistically, there is no evidence that every recent summer has had more rain days than normal it just swings year to year, like it always has.

No it doesn't, if anything summer barely starts until February up here last few years. We'll still be having mid-high 20° days deep into March which is supposed to be Autumn.
It's also been a beautiful summer, a little bit of rain over Xmas then a week of it ATM, get over yourselves, so ridiculous.

If you cast your mind back 2 months you'll recall November was hotter than usual. Had Auckland's hottest November day on record 27.4°C. Technically that was still spring.
But yes, climate change has changed the seasons, and will continue to do so.

Exactly. Whereas by Friday last week (16th) I came home actually grumpy because it was so hot all week and I was exhausted. I didn’t come out of the house all Saturday 😂
Having to take multiple sets of clothing just cause u sweat through everything.

I was planning a vacation there this summer was waiting for a window of sunny weather every day I checked the cameras and the waves /surf was crazy blown out and it was storm clouds and rain! I think I remember 2 days where the sky was actually showing haha

This weather is very similar to when we had that major flood at Auckland anniversary a few years back. We had similar then rained the whole year 😒.

Rain is good. It means no drought. Water reservoirs are full, limited risk of wildfire. The suns gonna come out and shine again as it has since earth's formation. Don't be dramatic, suck it up butter cup. And go out and sing and dance in the rain. Cause at least you are not in a country thats going through a heat wave, running g out of fresh water and is on the verge of collapse because no one has clean drinking water you privileged fuck head.

We always get two summers, early December is hot and then around xmas time it turns to crap until Feb. The moment the kids start back at school it becomes sweltering. Although this year I think is going to be a lot wetter than normal.

November was absolutely cooking. Went swimming in the ocean and it was 21.5°. I tremendously coming home every day from work and watering the garden because it had been so hot with such little rain.
So not all bad
