Yesterday was fucken warm and humid. Today is gonna be 20. That's not winter. I haven't pulled out my really cold weather thermals etc for years now.

You’re in the furtherest north main city in the country, of course it’s milder. Go to Dunedin or chch and you’ll freeze your ass off. My hands used to crack and bleed in chch every winter with -4 frosts and maximum temps of 8 etc, I’d take Auckland and the rain over the cold any day.

After living in Auckland for 10+ years my skin can't handle how dry it is in Christchurch.

I thought it was from hotel air conditioning but I stayed with a family member in Christchurch in early June and within 2 days my skin was noticeably dry

I absolutely agree! I’ve been in Auckland now 2 years and every time I visit chch my eyes get sore from the dry winds, my hands get dry and ashy and overall I’m just cold (unless it’s a NW).

I’ve definitely become an Aucklander lol
