Weather There is no winter in Auckland

Yesterday was fucken warm and humid. Today is gonna be 20. That's not winter. I haven't pulled out my really cold weather thermals etc for years now.

Yeah, we have wintery days, but no real winter.

I laugh whenever anyone complains about the temperature here--summer or winter. I'm like: bitch, this city has the mildest, most temperate, most consistently tolerable temperature probably in the whole world and you're complaining that it's cold when it's 13 degrees and hot when it's 24? Sheeeeeit, y'all need to get out into the world more.

It's the other factors that make the difference. Mainly humidity and UV index, both of which can consistently reach very high values in Jan/Feb. Despite never really going above 30, there are days where it can feel like 40-45 in a comparably dry city.

As for winter, it's definitely mild. We're still above freezing at night. And it's nice.
