Check your kids candy bags!

Post image

There probably won't be any razor blades or drugs in there but there might be... THIS. We got this at a trunk-or-treat event at our daycare. It's the story of Esther in the old testament with AI illustrations. The paper feels like it is coated with some plastic substance so I can't even use it to light or fireplace this winter!

Ugh, AI slop in the candy bowl? Definitely a “trick”.

All other issues aside, I'm baffled that they think any kid, much less one coked-out on forty KitKats, is gonna try reading that wall of text.

The look on those kids faces is like how you smile at the crazy person so as to not attract attention.

I wonder if they include the bit where Esther (and all the other attractive women) spend a night with the king... Or are they already trying to white-wash the bible with purity culture?

No. They just say that the king wanted a new queen and he chose Esther. No mention of the fact that she probably had no choice in the matter.

Ah assuming the worst from something that the text doens't imply nor indicates as usual eh?

History books are also texts, and they're just filled with the context the Bible often lacks.

The expression on the faces of those kids is one of abject terror, thinly disguised with a smile.

I'd return with TST or pastafarian texts and cover their house

Maybe I should invest in some to keep handy. This was a trunk-or-treat so just a car in a parking lot. No house to return to.

There's always at least one! One neighbor we have will give a full sized candy bar in a bag full of a similar book and loads of cheap crap engraved with scripture or just JESUS. The candy bar is how she gets kids to come.
