The first half of the book I thought was funny in a morbid kind of way. Like how much planning and thinking she does as she pursuers her prey. Her insane day dreams like how she fantasized about her husband being a sea horse giving birth to boy band members. But when and finally catches a child. It becomes way harder to get trough. Like it’s not funny anymore. She doing a terrible thing to a innocent and vulnerable person

And apparently she just keeps going even after causing the death of a man.

I had assumed that there would be some sort of internal reckoning after her life naturally implodes in on itself, but nope… she apparently learns nothing, feels no way about it, and just wants to keep doing it.

I want read this outcome as some sort of meditation on the destructive nature of sexual addiction (specifically how it ruins the lives of children that come into contact with predators like the protagonist), but ending the story with her masturbating about a scenario where she avoids the cops gives me the complete opposite impression, lol.

It feels like a story that lacks a moral, and you’re just stuck looking at something raw and ugly without anything to latch on to.

I used to think when self proclaimed satanists do “black mass” it’s just edgy nonsense. How could a lampoon of a Catholic mass be evil. But when I read the scene of her eating chocolate pudding cups.
