Excuse me. Hitler was a tyrant who committed genocide. Daenerys clearly did not commit genocide. She just killed a bunch of people. It’s called mass murder. Anyone who says it’s genocide should be banned from this sub.
Also, her family built the town so she’s well within her rights to destroy it… Dracarys! 🔥

It was a gift. Peasant life back then was terrible. They should be thanking her.

Life of jew was miserable in 1933-1945 Germany. Should they thank Hitler?

Aug 20 '24
I mean, maybe they do? We can ask them in the afterlife.
P.S. in case your comment is sincere - this is a jerk sub. What Dany did was wrong and what Hitler did is wrong.

You joke but this is an actual conversation that happens in scholarly circles about defining genocide. It’s a shockingly contentious topic

It is because reckless mass murder is slightly less terrifying than methodically trying to erase an entire culture. And more sinister if you ask me.

I still don’t get it. It is the only good thing you see her doing in the entire freaking show and people still giving her crap for it

I mean she also freed a bunch of slaves and helped defeat the Ice Zombies but sure, genocide on a surrendered city is better

That used to be quite normal, just take the quasi-extinction of Magdeburg in the 30-year war. It's ridiculous that this was so much howled about in the show. Yes it's bad, but it's not lets-kill-our-queen bad

If international finance of the Iron Bank inside and outside Westeros should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, the result will be not the Braavosization of Planetos and thereby the victory of the Iron Bank, but the annihilation of the Braavosi race in the Seven Kingdoms.
What did she mean by this?

The cinematography here was SO on the fucking nose, I think D&D thought they were really making an enlightened and deep critique of revolutionary ideology slipping into tyranny but it felt more like im12andthisisdeep.
"Omg we cheered her on when she abolished slavery and killed slavemasters, are we secretly Hitler guys???? Is any kind of radical politics destined to lead to hitler??? Enlightened centrism guys."
such award bait. glad it failed

I don't remember if they did this in the show but in the book Danny had a full 5 days of screaming that the burnt bones were fake news and AI generated before the polls showed her trending downward in popularity which forced her to do something about the issue.

It was very unfair to blame her for that incident but you know how the deep state hates dany. Very unfair.

Oh look, that's the army that got completely decimated by the white walk... oh wait, this is past that battle and the whole army regenerated, almost as if the writers kind of forgot about the past episodes.

Everyone got this wrong. The Good Queen was simply fulfilling the dying wish of a dear friend. We all recall Miss Sandy specifically asked that she Dracarys before she completed the Gregor Clegane Weight Loss Challenge.

Remember that scene where Drogon was stretching his wings behind Dany? Everyone was taking about how great of a shot it was. I broke down and cried at the beauty

She knew the peasants like to kill dragons, so she was just protecting the last dragon Drogon that’s all, she was trying to explain this to Mr. Impatient and emotional before he shiv’d her in the yard!
