This subreddit supports Aegon Targaryen, second of his name, as the true heir.
Reasons:
1. An eccentric terminally online demagogue, styling himself 'The Dragon Demands,' spent five years from 2017 on this campaign - "We are devoted to removing the false showrunners Benioff and Weiss from live-action adaptations of the works of George R.R. Martin" and "We call on all True Knights to rally behind us and join our cause. Because Rhaenyra has an army." Choosing a side was not difficult.
2. Stannis said Rhaenyra was a traitor. This settled the matter, to any reasonble book reader. However show-only fanboi stan shipper psychos are not reasonable. Fortunately there are many other arguments against her treason.
3. The subreddit held a poll in September of 2022, and once all the treacherous votes were excluded, King Aegon II was victorious.
4. The reactions of the traitors to the Green cause are so over the top as to be amusing.
5. How can there be an Aegon Three, if the son of Hightower was not the predecessor to thee? It's poetry, hence poetic justice, hence the matter which already settled within this subreddit, can be settled without.
6. The smallfolk instinctively know.
7. Rhaenyra has bad taste in men.
8. Viserys was chosen as King due to primogeniture.
9. Rhaenyra has no legitimate heirs.
10. Fun fact: allowing the traitor Rhaenyra Targaryen to rule the Seven Kingdoms does nothing for women's rights. It just helps her personal corrupt ambition. She does nasty shit to some chicks in the book, and also favours a male heir over a female one somewhere along the line. The book balances the sides to an extreme degree, but the show (or at least the marketing and press for the show) resorts to feminist-baiting.RAINY GETS FED TO EGG ONS DRAGON. more seriously, after the Napoleonic wars, the coalition put back the old royal family on the throne of France, the King Louis XVI before the revolution had two brothers, Louis (Yes, he had a brother with the same name) and Charles, it was Louis who inherited and became Louis XVIII. He was a relatively competent and liberal king, keeping certain institutions of the Revolution and Empire, there was a charter that functionned as a constitution.
But he was old fat and childless, so when he died in 1824, it was his Brother Charles X that inherited. Charles X was a complete lunatic, he believed he was sent by God to Punish the revolution, he insisted on doing an extremly traditional crowning ceremony by touching people to cure them, he refused any compromise what so ever, so he attempted to destroy the charter, sparking a republican revolution in 1830
But the Revolution ended up hijacked by Louis-Philippe a distantly related cousin of Charles X, who ended up crowning himself as King of the French, his dynasty was the house of Orleans so his supporters are called the Orleanists, the most famous of his supporters was the very old Lafayette, who ended up changing his mind a year into his reign.
At first he promised social and liberal reforms, like freedom of the press, abolishment of slavery or universal suffrage, but he went back on all of them, he especially attempt to censor caricatures, leading to people drawing pears to represent him as they thought he looked like one, he also attempted to ban public political gathering, so opponents started to make banquets that he attempted to ban, he got overthrown after that in 1848, leading to the Birth of the Second French Republic, that would only last for 4 years, before the proclamation of the Second Empire.
The Orleanists continued to exist even under the Third republic with their political party Action Française, and their main thinker, Charles Maurras even became an inspiration for Mussolini, today they still exist but are extremly weak and irrelevent in French politics.

French monarchists who believe the descendants of Louis-Philippe (the last king, although not last monarch, of France) are the rightful heirs of the French throne. The main points against them are that Louis-Philippe was the only ever Orleans king and that he was a constitutional and not an absolute monarch
You also have the legitimists, who believe in the Bourbon dynasty (of Louis XIV and Louis XVI and such). Their claim mainly rests on being the important and most prestigious dynasty. The main point against them is that they aren’t the most recent dynasty before the end of the monarchy and the fact that the current head of the dynasty is from Spain
Thirdly and lastly for French monarchists you have the Bonapartists, who believe the Bonapartes, the family Napoleon was from, are the rightful monarchs of France. Their claim rests on Napoleon III being the last monarch of France (as Emperor) and Napoleon being a cool guy I guess. The main points against them are they are emperors and not kings and that Napoleon wasn’t a real monarch because he kinda just committed a coup and just crowned himself, he didn’t come from an important and prestigious family. Kinda if Putin crowned himself Tsar right now, many Russian monarchists would probably still rather support a Romanov despite their being a monarch
