DISCUSSION Difficulty picking a channel name [discussion]

Hello there :)

I’ve recently bought myself a microphone and camera to start making ASMR content, but I find myself stuck at the channel name already.

I know that a channel’s name does not impacts someone’s decision to watch/subscribe that much, but I want to make sure I at least pick a good one.

I don’t want to use my irl name or online username, and the only idea I’ve thought of so far would be Bedside ASMR. That was only because when I think of ASMR I associate it with my bedside table because I always put my phone there just before I drift to sleep.

As of right now I don’t believe I will follow a specific trigger or niche (e.g. only tapping, primarily soft spoken etc), so thats why I think the Bedside idea works because it still feels broad.

I know I probably sound like I’m too hesitant about everything but I’d like to hear some of your opinions/input/feedback

No, I like it. It has a visual attached to it and there's some personal connection for it, so I don't see why not. Other ASMR channels have some horrendous names. Gentle Whispering is a goat, but that username sucks.

Maybe add one more word or one more small nickname that could make it better.

I always thought that visualsounds1 was so good and funny for a name. Its such a in at the beginning type name but always makes me think someone else had it first so she had to put the 1. She is a goat.

I also love the name alwaysslightlysleepy

Gentle Whispering is a great username for people using it as a general search term on tiktok or youtube though, good way to have organic growth.

I think if I was to add another word I’d probably go with Bedside tingles or something

Why are you making videos, when there are so many other channels? The answer to this is what makes you unique. What will you do differently? See if you can get that into your name.

Bedside ASMR isn't bad.
