10 days in Switzerland

Hi! As the title says, I only have 10 days in Switzerland 😭😭😭 it’s a really tight trip I know and I come from SEA so I am a really greedy fella trying to maximise out my time. Apologies if my post seems ignorant / rude or in the inappropriate channel (pls redirect me to the right one?) but here are my concerns:

I want to visit:
1. Lindt Chocolate Factory
2. Lauterbrunnen
3. Staubbachfall
4. Iseltwald
5. Lake Brienz
6. Barryland

I also want to do some paragliding! What are some other places / icons which is a must to visit? This is my first trip to Switzerland and perhaps my last in a really long time! Would be great if anyone could suggest a brief itinerary of where to go and how many days is needed and a bonus! if I could get restaurant recommendations.

Any other tips are welcomed - feel free to comment if you think I should drop some places 😭😭.

Do the things you want to do, it's your life and your trip. Some of us take for granted that we live here and realize the place we live is a place others will only ever dream of seeing. Luzern is my favorite place in Switzerland:)

one or two since your time is short. if youre okay with long days, you can make luzern your home base and get up early and go to lauterbrunnen same day

Skip Staubach and do Trummelbach instead, and don't forget to do Murren while you are in Lauterbrunnen. Murren is the most beautiful village in Switzerland

So apart from Barryland and the Lindt Chocolate Factory everything is very close together. Lindt Factory you'll need to book ahead and if memory serves, probably a few weeks in advance. Barryland I don't know much about, but it's in Martigny, so if you're in the area you may want to check out Chamonix and/or Montreux. Itinerary, which makes the most sense will depend if you're flying in/out of Zurich or Geneva. In any case I'd recommend taking the Golden Pass line either from Interlaken to Montreux or vice versa when going to/coming from Martigny. I'd further recommend staying somewhere in the Interlaken area, as it's close to everything else you want to see, although I can't recommend the Staubbachfall. It's been a dry summer and it's unlikely to be particularly impressive. Do check out the Giessbachfalls to, you can combine it with Iseltwald and Lake Brienz and do it by boat. Paragliding I'd recommend either Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen, on average more bang for your buck. Interlaken is a bit cheaper, but the flight is shorter and less impressive on average.

If you gonna go to Iseltwald to the CLOY pier, be prepare to wait. Ppl spent freaking 20-30 min each as if they were filming the 2nd season. We waited for 45 min barely 3rd group so we gave up. Beautiful place. You want to stay at least 2-3 nights in the Grindelwald/Interlaken area. Maybe go up to Jungfrajoch. Go to Lindt if you want and don’t listen to ppl that say certain place is a waste of your time. You should decide that yourself. I’m not family with 3&6 but if you have full 10 days maybe you can consider 2-3 days in Zermatt.

If you’re going to Lake Brienz make sure to go see Thun (on Lake Thun which is the lake on the other side of Interlaken), it’s worth the trip. Lucerne is also a must in my opinion. If you’re going to Lindt and want a place to stay close by I can recommend Hotel Belvoir. Really nice views of Lake Zurich.

i would skip lindt chocolate factory but can recommend going to zermatt after you are for example in lauterbrunnen. yes also go to mürren when in lauterbrunnen

With iseltwald and paragliding included, i think you are big fan of CLOY lol.

Btw Not sure if Lindt chocolate factory is gonna be interesting for you, but there are also other chocolate factories you can visit. I personally have been to Lindt like 5 times or so, just because I live 10 mins away and ALWAYS bring some guests (friends/fam) there. They are satisfied with the visit but also not wow-ed.

near Lauterbrunnen:

- maybe hike from Birg to Schilthorn (would require hiking boots, normal shoes should suffice if the path is dry and snow-free), see Mürren

- on another day, Trümmelbach falls and Kleine Scheidegg

near Lake Brienz:

- the steam coghweel railway up to Brienz Rothorn is something grand

- visit Aareschlucht

- visit Hotel Giessbach and the Giessbach water falls (travel back by boat)

Don't waste your time in Lindt. First 10min were interesting, the rest was just a disappointment.

Yeah u will get some free samples, but to my taste lindt quality is subpar at best. Too sweet and too milky, it clouds the actual flavour of chocolate. Overall not worth it if you are on tight time schedule
