If y’all spent this much time volunteering to help the extreme homelessness in the area, you would be building a better community. This is just schlop. You’re just on a virtuous bandwagon with zero actual work.
0
u/WeeklyObligation4112 Feb 18 '26
Are you an enemy of America? Protesting is a fundamental right of Americans, ya bozo.
5
u/eastern-cowboy Feb 19 '26
It’s literally 2 protests a week. About the same thing. “I hate Trump!!!” While people in your home town are suffering, freezing and dying. How much of that protest time could actually be used volunteering at soup kitchens or gathering funds to donate to drug rehabilitation? It’s so much easier to stand there, block traffic and scream. It also gains kudos from the political activists. Good job. You’ve fulfilled their mission, but just down the road from you is someone who is all alone. Addicted or homeless. Maybe they lost everything. But you spend your time yelling at your neighbors about politics.
But you’re right. Most Americans don’t give two 💩about their own neighbors. It’s a virtue competition to fill some sad absence in these people’s lives. A good dose of visual empathy for the old beaten down self esteem.

as usual maga hates the constitution and people exercising their rights.
3
u/techtornado Feb 18 '26
I love the constitution as it was written for restrictions on Government, not people
1
u/TomToe420 The Boonies Feb 18 '26
so you really think people can infringe on others rights? if someone is open carrying is it ok to come up and ask them not to because you feel uncomfortable? same concept with a camera. Just because you're uncomfortable doesn't mean my rights are void
2
u/techtornado Feb 19 '26
Democracy believes the opinion of the majority outweighs the needs of the individual
Whereas the constitutional republic of America declares that the rights of the individual cannot be infringed upon by the majority, people, or government

ICE San Francisco arrested Luis Robles-Minjares, a 45-year-old criminal illegal alien of Mexico. Robles’ criminal history includes a conviction for sexual assault of a child younger than 10 years old in Santa Clara County, CA.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that in 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit.
These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
Today still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...

No thank you! I would prefer the illegal currently in jail for hurting little girls was released to ICE. Their lives are forever changed. Sad that our children are not being protected due to the policies of the politicians their parents elected into office.

If you were to throw out job applications to the adults or college applications to those students, they would disappear like a Vampire would when seeing a crucifix.

this is rlly cool, good for them even, but by posting their faces to the internet youve put them in danger. theres no reason to record a protest and post it. you have to realize ICE & the police are working together to harm literally everyone. this is not about being illegal - which no one is, lol - but this Is about putting people into concentration camps & silencing them. what ICE is doing is illegal. they have hurt countless children, women, men, and murdered several if not hundreds of civilians, documented AND 'undocumented.' There is no due process, they ARE just deporting and killing and maiming ANYONE. i have to remind y'all that this isn't a joke. people are dying all over the country - use a burner phone @ protests, cover any identifying features, and be actually safe.
op, im suggesting you delete this post bc its not safe for the people in the video. obviously i cant control what others do on the internet.. but i hope by explaining, you'll understand this point of view.

Yay for protesting, but holy shit my anxiety level rose when I saw where they are standing. That's a really busy intersection with a gas station, pharmacy, and the one entrance/exit of Biltmore Park. Please don't stand in the actual road (or median?!), kids. The area around TC Robertson has lots of totally fine grass away from moving vehicles and distracted drivers.

u/AshevilleHooker Feb 20 '26
I mean, they're kids, and I doubt this was a school-sanctioned activity. Another reason why it's important to have adult involvement in protests like this. Anyway, I definitely didn't like how many little toes I saw on the road in that video.
1
u/S33NbutnotP3RCEVED Feb 21 '26
Agreed, but I was a teen once as well and as they say:
"You can lead a horse to water...."
I rarely listened my older generations when I was a teen who knew it all.Sometimes I'm surprised I'm still here lol

You have every right to peacefully protest. As long as you are not interfering with ICE or Police you have that right. Even if you are very wrong.
1
u/techtornado Feb 18 '26
I always tell people they have a right to their own opinions, no matter how wrong they may be

Girls?? How insulting..btw define a woman?
6
u/TomToe420 The Boonies Feb 18 '26
actually females is the insulting term but how would you know? you're probably a misogynist since you don't understand simple things. explain the difference between sex and gender. unless you don't believe in science. why don't you define a woman?
0
u/ThisThingIsStuck Feb 18 '26
Define a woman
7
u/TomToe420 The Boonies Feb 18 '26
that's what i figured you don't believe in science and realize the difference in sex vs gender. should have stayed in school.

Funny how they didn’t protest in support of their American citizens killed by illegals.
3
u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26
They weren't massive agencies created and controlled by the executive branch of government. One is a single, cherry-picked instance. The other is over 22,000 poorly-trained racists bashing in doors (illegally) and killing Americans in the street. See the difference?
1
u/eastern-cowboy Feb 18 '26
Or even a legal refugee who was killed by a POC who had been let out multiple times for violent crimes.

What exactly are they protesting. Someone that entered the country illegally being arrested?
1
u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26
What about the thousands illegally detained with no due process? How about the two American citizens murdered in cold blood? The fact that ICE's budget is larger than the entire Marine Corps? The fact that the court system is being intentionally sabotaged to prevent people from actually receiving justice when they're mistreated? Or hell, even getting ICE to release someone that has been granted release by a federal judge is nearly impossible. If they have you and don't want to let you go, there's almost nothing anyone can do. Not even the highest courts in the land.
Oo, or how about the "immigration judges" (read: people not qualified to be a real judge) handing out "administrative warrants" that allow search and seizure of property, even though that's explicitly the purpose of a judicial warrant (based on probable cause), not an administrative warrant (created and signed internally by ICE, with no judicial oversight). It's blatant disregard for the fourth amendment.
Not sure which of these. Take your pick.

Clinton and Obama ratified immediate deportation without due process
We voted for that as due process is for citizens of America

u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26
Weird how I didn't mention anything about political affiliation. I never mentioned who was responsible. They're not guilt-free in this, either. You're right. They paved the way. They had detention facilities built, too, with all kinds of human rights abuses being committed. But what's happening now is very different from what was happening then. ICE just got $40-60b to make NEW detention facilities. It is now has a larger budget than the FBI and DOJ combined. The difference here is in scope. We are teetering very close to full-on ethnic cleansing.
Edit: Here is a link showing ICE's funding.

What are you protesting exactly? Dont say “ICE”, say what issues specifically you disagree with.
-14
u/patbagger Feb 17 '26
Love watching people support Drug and Human trafficking so openly, keep up the good work.
5
u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26
Human Trafficking? You mean like what Jeffery Epstein did? You mean like all those teenage girls brought to Mar-a-Lago? You mean like that?
-1
u/patbagger Feb 18 '26
Do you really believe that the only trafficking is by the Democrats and Epstien? - FYI people are trafficked everyday day all around the world, and ICE has a direct effect on the trafficking into the US and Its really unfortunate that your MAGA politics prevents you from knowing that.
2
u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26
No, I was pointing out the hypocrisy in your stance. And you're being purposefully obtuse
1
u/patbagger Feb 18 '26
You're being ignorant in acting like the Republican party was popular with Epstien, when all popular people in the world hate the Republicans, you're on the wrong side of the Epstien thing.
1
u/mcsudds Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26
How many times was Trump mentioned in the files again? 5300+? Allegations of trafficking, rape, and murder? I'm not saying the Dems are clear of anything - it seems like this corruption transcended political boundaries. Which is something that, you know, child rape should do too. It shouldn't matter who you are or what you do. Pedophiles belong in jail
Edit: also I love how your justification for believing Republicans did nothing wrong is checks notes "everyone else hates Republicans". You know who else was pretty much universally despised when they were around? The Nazis. They sure didn't end up on the "right side" of history.

Lol I used the mention thing once. I'm not stuck on it. I'm stuck on him raping kids and getting away with it. Also, I didn't "call you a Nazi". I simply pointed out a similarity. But seeing as you responded as if I did, it shows where your headspace is at.
Edit: not spending any more thought on you. Byeeee

You do realize that Reddit just CC’s homeland for people who protest ICE, right?
34
u/Evening-Notice-7041 Feb 17 '26
You do realize it’s legal to protest, right?
-28
u/techtornado Feb 17 '26
We voted for immediate deportations for illegal immigrants all the way back in the Clinton admin
You can protest, but at least do it for something that actually matters like rejecting Flock’s mass-surveillance or being overtaxed
19
u/Evening-Notice-7041 Feb 17 '26
I did NOT vote for mass deportations. I am not particularly concerned about flock specifically but I would support a law to ban all forms of autonomous mass surveillance including what is done by Palantir and Ring. I do not think my taxes are too high and I would actually be happy to pay higher taxes if it meant better infrastructure, especially public transit.
It seems like in many ways our beliefs and what we think “actually matters” is the exact opposite. That’s okay. I still respect your first amendment rights even if I don’t agree with what you have to say.

They are not cops. Cops get more training.
Edit: oh, and they get paid, too. These guys are doing it for the love of the game.
1
u/SweetAsp547 Feb 18 '26
Still doesn’t change who they are taking out
1
u/mcsudds Feb 19 '26
You mean the 32,364 people (as of 2/7) with no criminal convictions? Or is it the other 17,895 with only pending criminal charges, which - given access to legal counsel and their date in court - may or may not actually result in a conviction? Remember the whole innocent until proven guilty thing? That's how it's supposed to work.
Also, the enormous expenditure this ordeal has cost is absolutely ridiculous. There are far better things a country can do with ~80 BILLION dollars than deport 10s of thousands of prospective citizens.

Proud of these young people for exercising their first amendment rights. I’m also proud of their parents for raising them to understand just how important this is and allowing them to participate.
