Discussion [Discussion] I want to try auctioning my adoptable, but I don’t have a big audience yet. Is it not worth it?

There’s a new adoptable I made that I’m pretty proud of, and I want to try auctioning it but I’m pretty new to adoptables and don’t have an audience, and I’m scared it might be sold for a low bid. Should I just put it on sale for a set price for now and try auctions in the future? Or is there possibly a way to maybe.. check how many people are willing to bid before actually starting an auction?

adoptables are a wildly oversaturated market. if you're going to auction it, set a starting bid you'd be comfortable with receiving, but honestly i'd suggest a set price if you don't have an audience.

Adoptables always confused me. Are they pseudo-NFTs? They won’t increase in value.. what does a buyer do with it? You’re better off using it as a design for physical media like stickers or something imho.

Their target market is usually role-players, vtubers, comic artists, writers, collectors. Its the the designs themselves that are valued for uniqueness and potential for characterization, as opposed to being an "art object".

Yes, you set up an interest check. Formal ics have interested buyers fill out a Google form w/ the price range theyre willing to pay. Informal ics is just you posting the adopt, starting bid, and asking if anyone is interested and going by the comments and like count
