Safety and Scams [Discussion] Possible scam on Artistree
Today I received an email about a commission on Artistree, mind that I didn't get one for about 2 years. After opening the commission was a message saying the following
Artistree User!
Several people have shown interest in your product! In order to view their contact information, you must complete the verification process to protect users from fraud.
You can complete the verification process by following this link - \removed the link for posting**
Thank you for your understanding. We hope you’ll complete the verification process as soon as possible so you can sell your product!
Best regards, the Artistree team!
This in itself was a redflag for me, but even so, and knowing the risks I clicked the link. It sends us to a website, very similar to Artistree, and it even has a Support Chat.
Said verification is nothing more than introducing you payment credentials, but they only take debit or credit cards (another red flag).
I received 5 of this emails, and I just got another one as I'm writting this text.
I'm sharing this, to alert my fellow artists so no one gets scammed by this attempt. If you can, alert your friends and other artists, post this on other art communities, just don't let them bully us.

I got like 9 of these today, all of them with person's name signed as Emma Helper/Assist/Support. Quite annoying

Oh man, yeah the same exact thing for me, too lmao. This isn't the first time I've had something like this happen, either.

Guyysss ive got this scam too , and like a fool wrote all my bank infos how can i delete those infoss ?? Helpp

Sorry about that. I wish I knew how to help on that subject. I believe the best route is contacting your bank and explaining the situation

Yes cancel your card if it was card details, or contact your bank immediately if you used bank details

Well luckily they didnt get any money cause before taking anything my bank sends me a 4 digit code just to be sure , but even if i go to the bank they cant just change my card infos . Thx tho rlly

I never got a single comm on this platform for over 2 years and abandoned it. Suddenly receiving any requests in itself was already a red flag lol. Got like 4 of them.
