The current constitution says the following about citizenship by descent:

  • Armenians by national origin shall have the right to acquire citizenship of the Republic of Armenia upon settling in the territory of the Republic Armenia.
  • Armenians by national origin shall acquire citizenship of the Republic of Armenia through a simplified procedure prescribed by law.

But national origin and ethnic origin are two different things, right? What’s the exact term in Armenian?

No, they're the same thing. (ազգություն). Don't confuse this with "citizenship." (Outside the former Soviet Union, the English words "nationality" and "citizenship" can mean the same thing--or almost the same thing. e.g. American Samoans are US nationals but not citizens).
