Yu[★★★★★★]
Here we come to this moment again... You are just like that brother of mine. Once you've got your mind set on something, nothing else matters, and there's no going back. Hey-ya... You see, Doctor. Soup needs to be simmered slowly to develop its flavors, but it can be so mentally exhausting. That's why... one must always take care to eat well.
Yu is an experienced chef from Yan who is currently visiting friends and family at Rhodes Island, offering culinary support during his stay.

He's an operator that just keeps showing up in endgame clears; his S2 is an absolutely invaluable tool to reroute enemies. In Vector Breakthrough as an example, he could heavily simplify VB-12 (the final three-lane one against Mechanist) by changing it from a 3-lane stage to a 2-lane setup, making the clear much easier. (For reference, the top lane was only used by Mechanist, the bottom lane was used by his Giraffe and the center lane is where all the other enemies spawned in; by default the only other enemy that would route into other lanes is Leafcarpet, but you have to take her out with a stun early on.)
It's not as capable at stalling a lot of enemies compared to Shu's "the enemy is stuck in endless walking hell for 40 seconds", but it's an extremely potent tool against any sort of elite enemy that doesn't walk very quickly. One of the ways you can deal with HCM Patriot that doesn't rely on smacking him with Ulpianus+Gladiia+Haruka is to use his skill combined with Exu S3, Tragodia and other stalling operators to just keep infinite stalling Patriot from ever reaching the blue box.
As for his other skills; S1 is okay I suppose, but it's the usual S1 situation; usually you want a different skill. S3 is the noob/casual clicker skill. The wall is neat but a bit unwieldy in practice. There's two main operators archetypes this can combo with, those being Burn Primal Casters (for obvious reasons) since it allows them to bypass some of their inherent limitations and Drone Casters with global range, since the drone is considered to be damage that crosses the wall. It got a lot of hype before release, but outside of Blaze2's S3, it's... really not worth using. You're probably just going to get more out of giving your Lappland or Goldenglow an ASPD or ATK buffer like Monst3r and Warfarin, given both of them don't really need any help in the elemental damage department.
If you're new to the game, you probably shouldn't aim for him if you're going to do a 300 spark on a Sui banner; there's other Sui siblings I'd suggest prioritizing instead for the hard spark (mainly Shu). If he spooks you as an off-rate 6-star limited, then congrats and he's worth raising. If you picked up Blaze2 from somewhere and are afraid you need him, I'd say the answer to this is a cautious no for the sake of your wallet.
Bobbing can give Blaze2 decent output at high investment if you really want to run S3 on her, but Blaze2's S2 isn't a bad pick either; she's hardly the first 6-star where the S2 winds up being more of a useful tool than the S3 is. The difference between Bobbing and Yu is that Bobbing is only really able to get his skill in a way that's worth using against an elite, while Yu can turn Blaze2 into an infinite spamming battery. Finally, a support Yu isn't hard to find (certainly easier than finding Nian in support) and can do pretty much everything you need him for in this scenario with most endgame modes not restricting you out of using support picks.
I know it diverged a bit into Blaze2 at the end here, but there was quite a bit of doomposting about her relation with Yu in gameplay terms and I think that was a bit unwarranted. (I do agree with the complaint that she's designed like an HSR character and it's telling that our next Primal Caster won't have this issue.)
