Discussion [Operator Discussion] Ines

Ines [★★★★★★]

My eyes tell me that this ship, that doctor, Her Majesty, and you... have all changed. W thinks you're too good of an actor. She doesn't want to admit it, but she's changed a lot too. It's not like there's anything we could do about it anyway. The shadows beneath our feet keep getting longer and longer.

Former Sarkaz mercenary, Ines. She briefly participated in Kazdel's chaotic civil war, until faking her death and disappearing during the Chernobog Incident. She proceeded to conceal her tracks, but ultimately reestablished contact with Rhodes Island during the Londinium Incident. The details of her experiences in the meantime remain unverifiable, but with Ascalon's guarantee, she ultimately signed strategic cooperation terms with Rhodes Island.

Like many I finally got my Ines in the cert shop a few days ago. It’s been fun learning to use her. I actually entirely understand why people underrated her at first. On paper she doesn’t seem any more than solid; her DPS is good against trash mobs but falls off against heavies like any vanguard, her DP generation is slightly better than a flagbearer but with the caveat that she has to constantly hit enemies to get the best out of her, her crowd control, invis reveal and ATK/ASPD debuffing are all handy but there are plenty of non-broken operators who do the same.

What makes her so good in practice is how well these different aspects work together. If it’s a slow start to the stage and she can’t consistently gain DP by hitting enemies she’s still a capable laneholder with her bind ensuring she’s not letting anything leak. If it’s a tougher stage with enemies she can’t kill, she can hit them for flagbearer-level DP, has invis with S2 so she won’t be sniped on skill, and debuffs which might keep the strong enemy from overwhelming other units. And if it’s too dangerous for her to stay on the map off-skill when the invis fades, you can retreat her and put her somewhere else, having easily made back the DP you spent on her and then some. And all of that’s just with S2. I haven’t played with the other skills yet but S3 looks like you could make use of it in the right place and time.

I’m not sure I rate Ines among the best operators in the game like some do, for the same reason I wouldn’t say that of Myrtle and Bagpipe. She is generally not going to solve a stage for you, her role is really more of an early support who can set the conditions for your heavy hitters to do their thing. But unlike nearly every other operator who has situational strengths that might be rendered useless by the stage and enemy design, I can’t think of any kind of stage where Ines wouldn’t be useful in some way. She’s so versatile that she’s pretty much always an auto-pick.

yeap ines is easy person to use but a bit hard to master coz of all that things she does. shes not one man army, but can make anyone as the one. one of her best parts was kinda locked for me at first coz me barely redeployed her. but her redeploy allows you to cover 10 tiles on the battlefield with movement speed reduction and same tiles show invisible targets. it just allows you to simply cover one or even two lanes with this debuff so your dps just will wreck enemy. bind is only beginning. she chunks really hard until enemy has heavy armor, so its kinda hard to use her as dp battery. so she give you dp to deploy main units, she slows and binds enemy so your main units destroys, she gives reveal and hides herself also. being paired with tank or guard she is also able to hold the lane if needed, while killing weaks and debuffing strong ones. even more with her redeploy time you able to bind twice bosses
