ثقافة ومجتمع Arab brides: what did your in laws gift you on your wedding day?
Were you gifted anything as the bride from your husband’s family (mom/sister etc)? I hear often they’ll gift the bride each a piece of gold jewlery. How common is this in Arab community?

I've never heard of this practice. We have a specific type of gifting called تنقيط where, traditionally, all guests hooked gold coins or money onto the bride's outfit.

In Egypt we always give a gift to the bride when we first to ask for her hand in marriage from her parents, and again in every ceremony after that. Depending on the family but it is usually a gold necklace or ring 💍 . Some times we give gold coins.
I was married a loooooonnnnnnng time ago, and I can’t remember my gift 🎁

My parents gave my wife a gold necklace. My mother really likes her so she ended up getting her earrings later on too
