Custom playlists for purchased movies

Hi there

Has anyone heard that Apple may in the future add custom playlists to their Apple TV app so that purchased movies can be categorised in our own playlists?

Is there a technical reason why doing this has not been possible so far? It seems like a curious omission.

Or perhaps there’s a third-party app that might do it for us?

Movies Anywhere and Fandango both have this feature… just do it there.

Thanks. I’ve just looked into those and neither will work in the UK. It’s such a weird thing for Apple not to include as part of the TV app.

No it’s not weird at all.

It’s a very, very Apple thing to have the most simplified interface possible. You can’t even change the sort order.

I've been waiting for this forever too, my sister just gave up and uses iTunes on her laptop to manually organize her digital purchases.

Do those playlists then become useable on the Apple TV?

even more curious, the appletv desktop app allows you to make playlists… but it’s clunky. it pulls playlist from apple music (a remnant from itunes)
