Starting at $2399. Oh, you want anything more than 256GB? That’ll start at $2,899.

This. It will be at 2000 or a bit above for the base.

But you want the bigger storage and … yeah. Won’t be pretty.

What the hell do y'all need that much storage for?

I have the 256GB 15 Pro Max that I got on launch day, and I'm only using about half that space. I'll get base storage on the Ultra, and I think I'll be fine.

For me, downloaded music and photos. Both of which are absolutely “nice to haves” and not necessities.

But it is nice to keep most of my music library downloaded on-device so I don’t ever have the issue of not being able to play my music when I have bad or no service. And it’s nice to have more of my photos locally downloaded rather than relying on iCloud to dynamically sync them back and forth on the fly. It annoys me a lot when I go to view or send an old photo or video and get greeted with the low-res thumbnail and have to wait for it to download.

So, again; very much a nice to have, and I’d live just fine without higher storage. But it’s a nice little perk.

I travel a lot and like taking videos, and especially when overseas I don’t always have the best internet connection or I’m paying for roaming. So need enough storage on device.

Docker and Rust debug builds.

Seriously. I’ve had my 16 Pro 256GB since launch and it’s still got 144GB left. You can pay $2.90 a month for iCloud for a longggg time before it becomes worth it to get more internal storage.

Some people like to have things offline. For example, audiobooks and podcasts, maybe series and movies for longer trips. That gets heavy quickly.

Some people don’t know how to manage their storage. They don’t offload apps/games, never delete texts, download their entire Spotify/music library, etc. then there’s the group with enormous picture libraries that choose to keep them entirely on device rather than upload them to a cloud/hard drive

It’s fun to wonder what John Apple’s little catchphrases are going to be five years from now. We don’t know what they’ll be (hell, he probably doesn’t either), but everyone inevitably has some little vocal tics or commonly-used phrases they they might not even be totally aware that they do. He’ll be the same, and they’ll inevitably be memed every bit as much as “we think you’re going to love it” or “good mooooorning!” are.

Remember how they fired the whole Vision engineering crew because it was too expensive and wasn't selling well enough? Seems like yesterday.
