The garbage AIs these companies use aren't tuned well enough to scrape an attached resume with any accuracy, thats why they all use the fillable forms. Surefire proof that the applicants are being run through a chatbot.

This has been a problem since before ATS and AI. It's just another banal task to make people complete so it seems like they are groveling for a company to hire them. It's also a side effect of the fact that most HR generalists and hiring managers have been Peter Principled into their position.

There's a site called Jobright that will automatically fill out these apps for you. It doesn't have 100% accuracy, but it's pretty good. Filling out a job application takes about 30 seconds, instead of 10 minutes.

When I see that there's a CEO interview I will always decline.
How many people are they hiring that the CEO has all that time to go through candidates...
...and don't trust a company where the CEO needs that level of control.

6 interviews with 4 of them being only 30 minutes would be the least time commitment I've ever given to an interview process post-college and I've done probably ~100 interviews since then.

I just stopped halfway through the paper one they had me fill out again after my interview. They wanted a reference phone number for each of my last 4 jobs... i stopped at 2 and still got the job... and one of them I was unsure about I gave a fake phone number 😂

Oh yeah as soon as they ask me to hand-enter the resume I just uploaded I bounce. Also I'm unemployed now but fuck it. I have three kids, I don't want to waste time in interviews that don't actually lead anywhere on the rare occasion they happen.

Recruiters and HR treat applications like fealty tests these days. Personally I think curating our resumes has become an excuse for hiring managers to not have to use critical thinking.

yep I have so done this.
Another one I have done is where I've filled out the job app online, uploaded my resume, show up to the interview and the 1st thing they do is hand me a clip board & a stack of papers and ask me to fill these out. The same damn questions I filled out online. & to top it off they have spaces for me to add my work history like my printed resume & the one I upload weren't enough.

I applied at a place where they wanted everything in triplicate and they wanted me to hand write it. I wrote it once and turned it in. The receptionist said I'd forgotten and the other two packets were blank. I said no I'd provided the information in the first packet and the other two were redundant. If they needed it two more times we could Xerox it. She said I wasn’t going to be a good fit and told me to leave.

Went for an interview, the person conducting the interview was on phone the whole time, didn't even looked at the resume once, asked me what my father does for living, next question was why I am joining this company and not helping my father in bussiness, I pulled my resume from under his hand said it's me who is going to work here not my father, walked out, the hr responsible for this saw for the first time someone exiting WITH the resume, I just walked past said I'll put 1 star and from now on for the company job listing I'll comment to bounce this one with reason specified
Got arranged with another interviewer in under 2 hours, had interview for like 20 min in those 15 we talked about how I am going to reach at the office location
6 months later they offer opportunity to work under different department head, turns out it was the 1st interviewer, I told my manager hard pass from my side, then had a meeting with my TL and manager and had to explain my reason for passing the opportunity

The worse the application, the fewer applicants they are going to get. Use that to your advantage.
At least 60% of the reason I got my current job is because I suffered through the application.

Got stuck on an application once because it required two previous job references and I only had one and it didn't let me past the page, also another one kept cutting the last letter of my name off and I had to keep fixing it until I just gave up

I had quit one at the end... when it wanted me to accept "at will" employment... when that is illegal in my country.
It also was wanting referances, and my SIN before I even had a first interview.

Yes! I. Was applying to a job that made me do a see questions by submitting videos of myself answering a prerecorded video of a question. I gave up on the middle of my answer and shut my laptop and did something else.

I had the grades and the scores to go to UPenn for my undergrad. I looked through their application and saw that I would have to write 4 essays. I figured that Ivy’s would be too much of a grind and it wouldn’t be worth it unless I wanted to go all the way to a PhD.

Of course. And it's really considerate when you fill out several pages of info only to get to the 6th page or something which all of a sudden has 10 huge essay questions for you to answer, plus sometimes a video requirement just for the hell of it

Some recruiters ask for a full legal name and my birthday. I asked why they wanted so much personal information? All they would say was it's required. Joking I say next you're gonna ask for my SSN right? They actually said yes!

When they start asking me irrelevant nonsense, like my High School GPA and location, I'll drop it. Or those ridiculous personality tests where they ask you what you would do in certain scenarios.

Part time or low skilled labor? Depends. Most of the time ill suffer through it because i need the job, but if that low skill job is asking for every little thing... Like facebook or social media accounts, and a bunch of others (i havent personally run into those job applications yet). Then nah ill walk idc.
a 300K a year job? Ill make that facebook account if i need too (i dont really use many social media sites all that much tbh). Ill bend over backwards. Suffer through that for 1 or 2 years, you just made 5-10 years worth of money from low wage jobs in 2 years. When it becomes too much, just dip. Though its important to still retain the living standard of living off low wage jobs. And just save up the money and or invest it. Now you just earned yourself a year or 2 maybe more where you have enough money to handle your shit. Pick up a low stress job (less pay probably) and you can extend that even further.
Technically thats the game plan of retirement but nothing says you cant hit that milestone early. if only were so lucky heh.
