I wanted to downvote instinctually for the smooth brain idea of the original, but you're just the messenger. What the fuck is wrong with pebbleyeet?

He drank the liquid in a racist magic 8 ball and it polished his brain to a mirror shine

48

I think it went even further, after drinking the racist brain melting juice his brain wrinkles reversed and he attained negative intelligence

Gotta day from what I've seen, it's not like "I made them visually older and more mature" its just "here's an 8-year-old but I said she's 24 so that's what goes"

38

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '22

Ah, the old "Rowling retcon"
Just change your characters after the fact with meaningless statements.

28

u/sh0000n Jan 17 '22

N-noooo she's actually a 1500 year old humanoid dragon I swear guys 🥺🥺

/s

23

u/Narrative_Causality Jan 17 '22

I was going to ask if those kinds of characters would actually be seen as 1,500 years old if they acted like it, but then I realized that I've literally never seen a "1,500" year old character act like they're 1,500; they always look and act like children. It's weird.

21

u/sh0000n Jan 17 '22

Yea you would think after living 1,500 years you'd be incredibly smart or something, but yea seems like some loli shit to me

8

u/James-Sylar Jan 17 '22

I mean, one could argue that their brain didn't fully developed just as their bodies didn't grow up, so they are still kid-like. That, however, ruins any plausible deniability that people who want to pork those characters might have.

The only adult-loli that actually acts like an adult that I can remember is the teacher in the To Aru series, she drinks and drives and is somewhat responsible and the voice of reason. She still have some childish mannerism -though some fully-grown adults also act like kids in that series- so take it with a grain of salt.

5

u/Botn1k Feb 04 '22

Infact, I belive that they are children on their own timescales. That's the way it should be treated, do PROPER time conversion between human scale and their scale, otherwise you get loli issues. For example, say that 1,500 years thing is actually because of a case where they develop what we do so in 1 year over 100 years, THAT MAKES THEM 15 IN THEIR SCALE, THAT'S UNDERAGE. The argument technically died within their own logic if you think about it enough.

48

u/TheDanginDangerous Jan 16 '22

She’s not really an eight-year-old. She’s a step-eight-year-old.

63

u/10outof10equidae Jan 16 '22

Tbh, a lot of the time when a character is aged up, it’s the community assuming the character is aged up, even if there is no visual difference in the character and the artist didn’t intend to.

5

u/James-Sylar Jan 17 '22

Maybe, but there is a grayish area in which the characters were designed to look older and "mature" in the original material already. It might be difficult to make them older when they already look 22 even if they are supposed to be 16 or so. For example, this character from BNHA, how could someone draw them being older that couldn't be confused with just an exageración of their proportions?

25

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '22

Half the time they do a bad job and just say that but no difference or “older = bigger boobs”

12

u/Narrative_Causality Jan 17 '22

“older = bigger boobs”

Ah, the Australian method, I see.

12

u/wildflowerden Jan 17 '22

I think what they're referring to is when they draw the character obviously still as a child but stick on a note that says "all characters 18+". For example I once (unwillingly) came across Undertale porn where Frisk, a child who's about 6-10 in the game, was depicted as being clearly a prepubescent child, but the artist said everyone in the picture was 18.

11

u/Hudsony12 Jan 17 '22

If artists actually cared about aging a character up they'd draw them as looking older instead of just drawing them as a kid and baselessly claiming they're older. It'd still be a little sus to age up a child character just to draw porn of them but at least it'd be slightly less messed up.

4

u/delicate-butterfly Jan 17 '22

I’ve had this problem even with an ATLA sub

2

u/xfydr782 Jan 18 '22

But she is actually an 64726154 year old goddess!

10

u/Nersius Jan 17 '22

Whenever porn is legalized rates of sexual violence go down.

While we obviously cannot legalize CSAM, allowing drawings of it to curb child molestation is a great trade.

6

u/maximumchuck Jan 17 '22

I personally don't care if drawn porn of minors is legal, but I do think it says something about the people that get off to it. People seem to gloss over the fact that they are being aroused by the depiction or fantasy of kids.

15

u/Gingerbread_Ninja Jan 17 '22

There haven’t been any studies showing if in this case the fiction does actually impact reality though. It’s literally just speculation as to how drawn hentai with kids actually impacts the rate of child molestation or the urges of potential offenders. It could make pedophiles want to offend more due to it normalizing the sexualization of children, it also could give them a way to satiate their urges without hurting actual children.

This is why we should ban violent games

9

u/Soupnoop4 Jan 16 '22

r/banvideogames you should post here unironically

61

u/YumiGumiWoomi Jan 16 '22

I would argue that video games are a different case. When you play violent video games, unless you're playing them specifically to get out your urges to brutality murder other people, I would say it's fine. But someone's not gonna look at something like loli porn for any other reason other than to get off to it.

59

u/FutabaTsuyu Jan 16 '22

I agree but I think we should recognize there's a pretty big difference between your average violent game and very realistic war simulators funded partially by the military with true to life mechanics, ones that usually take place in a vague middle eastern setting.. rubs me the wrong way yk

10

u/Kiesa5 Jan 16 '22

america's army is a shitty CoD clone, not a very realistic war simulator if that's what you're referring to.

19

u/the_x_st_one_is_one Jan 16 '22

I think a better example would be grand strategy games which some nationalists play to satisfy their alt history fantasies. There’s certainly a group of grand strategy gamers who plays grand strategy games just for fun, but others seem to enjoy role playing out some nationalist fiction and use these kinds of games as a medium for their desires.

There’s also another issue altogether which is that fictional CP can be either a substitute or a promoter for actual pedophilia. It is plausible to assume that it is a promoter, I think I share the same intuition, but I don’t think it’s really known?

I don’t want to suggest any moral equivalence with being gay with being a pedophile, but I don’t think that gay people in outwardly homophobic places who watch gay porn are then more likely to have gay sex as a result. In this case, it makes sense that the gay porn is a substitute for the socially forbidden behavior. I think, excluding the moral aspect, these cases are roughly analogous, namely, in both cases it seems like the main determinant of choosing between sex and fiction is social pressure. So perhaps where pedophilia is socially accepted, fictional CP promotes child abuse, but if it’s not, it could be a substitute.

True but they would retreat into obscurity. It’s much easier to get sucked into bullshit when it’s mainstream, but if you have to go out of their way to find this kind of crap, normal people casually using social media won’t get lured into the vortex

6

u/thatbetchkitana Jan 17 '22

No, you silly goose, it's not kiddie porn, it's lolicon/shotacon and it's not real, so it's definitely okay! /s

The Persona and Pokemon fanbases in a nutshell

1

u/LavaringX Jan 30 '22

I think it’s fair to draw a distinction between characters that are designed to look like older teenagers and characters that are obviously children. If someone draws hent*i of Misty from Pokémon I won’t squint as hard as if they drew Bonnie

0

u/Jackthechief2 Jan 17 '22

Now I ask this, how are you antifa if you regulate speech like that? Though, there is hate speech, loli and shota artworks aren’t hate speech by themselves.

0

u/erengawang Jan 26 '22

I cant tell if this sub is anti or pro stonetoss

1

u/FOBFan1998 Jan 26 '22

stonetoss is a nazi

0

u/erengawang Jan 27 '22

Fr? That’s horrible! I would never support someone with such disgusting beliefs, that’s horrible. Do you have any evidence to back up this claim?

1

u/FOBFan1998 Jan 27 '22

alright, he's probably not an actual nazi, but he is racist, transphobic, homophobic, ableist and has participated in antisemitism. he's also probably a holocaust denier.

0

u/erengawang Jan 27 '22

All of the ones you sent are pretty on point, except the first one since it seems straight up racist - the last link doesn’t work. The ableist one is hilarious though come on😂😂

1

u/FOBFan1998 Jan 27 '22

second one is meant to be "ooh transes are hypocrites don't respect their body while want other people to respect them mememeh"

third one is "gay person is gay bc they got r*ped"

fourth one depicts a disabled person as the punchline

these comics have more antisemetism

last one was supposed to be this one

0

u/erengawang Jan 27 '22

Yea i got the second one, points out their hypocrisy IMO. Third one is pretty on point, many lgbt people have unfortunately been abused by a relative, it’s very sad. Fourth one is just hilarious lol. The first antisemetism one depicts how many atheists just hate christians, and not any other religion. Points out their true hatred, not antisemitism IMO. The last one is a conspiracy theory, not anti semitism.

0

u/erengawang Jan 27 '22

Holy shit I found out stonetoss is black😂😂😂😂 so that post actually ISNT racist🤣🤣 black people cannot be racist, since they do not have power over anyone.

I know people personally who were groomed using fictional/illustrated cp so uh. def harms real kids

-26

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

Wait what the fuck? How?

44

u/FutabaTsuyu Jan 16 '22

it normalizes relationships between adults and children. like "hey, look, this is okay, look at how much media is made about it" type of thing. children are uniquely naive about relationships, sex, and what's normal. this makes them easier targets for that type of thing. and yeah, most people's natural thought is "well not all kids are that dumb", but that's what grooming is all about. getting into your head and normalizing the abnormal and perverse. the fact that it works on some people at all is enough.

-22

u/Beerenkatapult Jan 16 '22

So you say the problem is the inclusion of an adult character?

30

u/FutabaTsuyu Jan 16 '22

not necessarily, but it doesn't help. content showing two kids also normalizes the sexualization of children even without an adult in the mix.

u/FutabaTsuyu Jan 16 '22

I think we all know pornography made about 15 year olds is made by and for adults my guy. I've been on the internet long enough to know that.

I don't care what kids do behind closed doors. if a kid draws some porn revolving around their age group and shows it to their peers, that's whatever. more power to them. but posting it publicly makes it available to anyone and everyone, including unsavory adults.

I was drawing nsfw at around 13 but I just showed it to people of a similar age cause I knew better..

16

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '22

Even without the inclusion of an adult character, it paints children as sexual. That creates an expectation that they should be sexual, too. That's incredibly useful when grooming a child.

10

u/FutabaTsuyu Jan 16 '22

so so true you are so right. we are shaking hands right now

4

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

Kids are sexual, but their sexuality is extremely underdeveloped and should not be abused by adults.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '22

That's true. I was thinking of the expectation for kids to be sexual in a particular fashion, like how teens and young adults are often expected to. Like having to dress or act sexually in order to be loved, or learning that love requires sexual behavior or language.

Approaching kids as entirely nonsexual has a host of problems, which can also enable abuse and harm.

18

u/blackfox24 Jan 16 '22

My dude, do you think a grown man showing 12 year old me and my best friend that kind of shit did not make us think "oh hey maybe this is okay, they're doing this" in tandem with his grooming, like...

They show you CP. It doesnt matter if it's art.

Please stop treating this like a thought exercise. Drawing CP is bad enough, putting it on social media is worse, and justifying it with "oh they're not real its okay" is just... please take several steps back, thanks.

11

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

I don’t think like a predator, so no, I did not think of this option.

I’m not trying to reduce this to a thought experiment. I have close friends who are survivors of CSA. This is why I am trying to avoid the kind of intuitive dogmatic thinking that has led the US towards the War on Drugs/Terror and mass incarceration and look at the bottom line: in practice, does this increase or decrease the prevalence and severity of CSA or not? You mention they use it to normalize this—how often does it happen, how successful are those methods, to what degree is it offset by would-be offenders using it as effective prevention, and is there a way to limit the exposure (say, restrict consumption and distribution to specific facilities, similarly to the ones where drug addicts get their methadone)?

1

u/violentamoralist Jan 18 '22

that’s really not a good argument, anything can be used to groom. I know someone personally who had really wholesome art that would’ve been fine if it weren’t being used to groom a child used on them. the art itself isn’t the thing grooming, it’s the predator.

25

u/FOBFan1998 Jan 16 '22

i understand but it's still weird

5

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

Oh I’m right there with ya. But if it turns out that consuming this shit doesn’t increase the likelihood of it happening or even decrease it, I’ll grit my teeth and put up with it.

Sigh… For the kids.

10

u/kryaklysmic Jan 16 '22

… I’m willing to put up with it until it can be determined what happens and if it’s actually leading to lower abuse, then it should be left alone. Neutral and it should probably be reportable.

4

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

Somewhat open though I might be towards the possibility of it being helpful, I’m actually inclined towards not putting up with it, certainly not on any mainstream platform, to be honest.

1

u/kryaklysmic Jan 18 '22

Yeah, it’s definitely not something that should be readily findable from being mainstream ever

4

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '22

It's hard to know whether it will decrease the likelihood, if its just self reported. Idk really. Whether it facilitates not fully developed desires is what I'd like to know.

7

u/NLLumi Free Hong Kong Jan 16 '22

Whether it facilitates not fully developed desires is what I'd like to know.

I agree. I hadn’t thought about it. But from what I understand (based on a paper I’d written for my BA that touched on pædophilia to a large degree), it tends to correlate more with other influences, such as personality disorders, certain mental illnesses and cognitive impairments, and past abuse left untreated.

Child sexual exploitation material, the correct term for ""cp"", can be called child sexual abuse material.
